I've never seen these in person. However, Javelin98 suggested I could use them as possible alien bugs/beetles.

So, my question is this . . .

If I were to remove the tails of the Tyranid Rippers, would the remaining section (the carapace part) fit in nicely, flat, on a 1/2 inch washer? Or would it stick out?

Thanks.

If only I knew what bases these are on, I might be able to figure out how big the carapace portion is:

Are they on 25mm bases?

Thanks.

The rippers with their tongues out are 5/8" from the backmost point of the carapace to the tip of the tongue, You'd have to remove the claws to get it to lie flat.

The ripper with its mouth closed is 9/16" from carapace tip to nose tip. Again, the claws would need to be removed.

However, if you were to stand them on their backsides (with the main part of the tail being vertical -- if it were still attached, that is), they'd be 1/2" from back point of carapace to claws. A snug fit. And of course they'd appear to be standing or rearing up, instead of lying like a bug flat on the ground.

Do you guys think they would make cool critters for 15mm gaming?

What if I removed the tails and made the rest of it look as though they are burrowing creatures, like ant-lions, waiting for people to get close enough to snatch?
