I would love tons of something like these, but TINY, so that each alien bug/beetle fits separately on the same type washers as 15mm figures (1/2 inch washers): picture link picture link Doesn't need to have the spiky thingie on top. But maybe visible legs and some evil-looking mandibles or fangs. Could be like alien (and evil-looking) versions of trilobites or chitons: link link Any suggestions? Thanks. CC I want them to be able to crawl out of small spaces – cracks and crevices – and swarm around unsuspecting troops/explorers. |

I think Mike at Black Autumn Productions was telling about working on something similar on the 15mm Yahoo group. Something about slugs with scythes? Keith F. |

How about Pendraken dungeon fantasy range? They are scaled for 10mm and no real pictures but I did trak down picture from link and wonder if the corpse crawler would do? From the Sci Fi range I tracked down link Some super procreate ones are link Andrew blog.kings-sleep.me.uk |

you are trying to kill me, I think
lol!

Mike, well don't just sit there, gawping Tell us a bit – are these similar to the small "riders" you mentioned on 15mm SF Yahoo? Keith F. |
Black Autumn Productions | 02 Apr 2009 3:51 p.m. PST |
Hi Keith Yes, they are a little like that. Mine have detailed shells, like that fellow. Mine stand on tendrils, like a Man-O-War, and they have arms like the example CC provided, but they have a pair which are at their sides. Mine have selveral weapons, including guns and a sword like to a large claw, which they can use one handed. How does that sound to you, neat or not your cup of slime?
I hope you good people will love them
lol
becuase they are 1 of the first 4 armies in my starting range. Best Regards Michael |
kmfrye | 02 Apr 2009 6:01 p.m. PST |
Actually, I think they sound pretty good, especially for a 15mm bug infestation. Are you plannin on making any arthropods/spiders? Keith F. |
nvdoyle | 02 Apr 2009 7:15 p.m. PST |
Armed tendril-bug-things? Oh, yes. |
Cacique Caribe | 03 Apr 2009 7:16 a.m. PST |
Can't wait to see what comes out of this. I really like the idea of alien/primitive looking bugs like these trilobites: link picture picture picture picture link But only if each bug (and I would imagine it would only have to be a single variant) fits within a 1/2 inch washer. Or else, it defeats the purpose – having them fit through cracks and crevices and swarm around unsuspecting crew/troops. CC |

Hi Keith Yes sir, but as a part of a Sci-Fi Monsters Pack. I like RPG with miniatures, and so to that end, in wonderful 15mm
we WILL have some Random Monster Encounters. Right Mr.Doyle! People have been wanting some Aliens that are not just a human with a Cat or Pig head, you know what I am saying, so I aim to make a few races that fit this Non-Humanoid-Aliens demand. Hi Dan Ole CC They are about half the size of a large man, these little slugs of mine, and they ride about on a flying transport being like to this image that you posted. picture How about it?
Regards Michael |

I would love to see some trilobytes in a wargaming scale. Have you also considered Tyranid Rippers, though? They fit well on 1/4" steel washers and have a suitably alien appearance. |
Cacique Caribe | 03 Apr 2009 12:10 p.m. PST |
Javelin98, If I were to remove the tails of the Tyranid Rippers, would the remaining section (the carapace part) fit flat on a 1/2 inch washer? picture Thanks. CC |

Yes, but it would look like what it is

Top Gun Ace | 03 Apr 2009 5:52 p.m. PST |
I'll see your trilobites (which would be cool to see in production too), and raise you with Eurypterids: link These would be cool too, for an alien, or early-Earth creature/monster. Apparently, it is a type of sea scorpion, called a Eurypterid, and they grew to about 4 feet in length. Similar cousins grew to about 8 feet long. They are believed to have lived in brackish water, and/or the open seas, but could climb out on land as well. To make them more frightful in the Sci-Fi realm, I consider them to be able to open an armored suit with their claws as if it were a styrofoam cup, and to travel in hunting packs. They also aren't smart enough to be scared off, so no morale checks needed. |
Cacique Caribe | 03 Apr 2009 6:07 p.m. PST |
Top Gun Ace, Believe it or not, initially I wanted to ask for something along the lines of sea scorpions, but I settled for whatever they could suggest, as long as it was less than 1/2 inch in diameter. Beetles and bugs kinda sounded "safe" to ask for. But I can't wait for someone to come up with those Eurypterids: link YouTube link link link link They are about as alien as anything Earth has ever seen. Love them!!! CC |

Bugs don't have to be gigantic to be dangerous . . . These little bugs in the algae could do a lot of damage! Look 3:25 into the clip: YouTube link CC |

Well IMO, 2 or 3 Monster Bugs, say the size of a Mini Van or 10 to 30 Big Bugs say the size of a cat
for my money are both a lot of fun. It depends on the game, and your mood at the time.

Cacique Caribe | 06 Apr 2009 4:18 p.m. PST |
"or 10 to 30 Big Bugs say the size of a cat" Lots more challenge, as there are more targets you could miss, right? :) CC |
Black Autumn Productions | 06 Apr 2009 7:24 p.m. PST |
Well, what if it takes 20 shots to bring down 1 of the big ones? I like both ideas.

Paraschnids from Khurasan should be out soon. I am always on the look out for more xenomorphs so beetles, slugs and trilobites would be added to my collection. Colonial Marines need variety in their lives. |

There is now a giant radioactive bugs faction for Monsterpocalypse. The ones I've seen are a bit large for a 1/2 washer, but would certainly fill the bill for inch-long or so. |

khurasanminiatures | 19 Oct 2009 10:38 a.m. PST |
Well, they are on production, ready fir sale actually. All I need now are the painted models from the painter but he's just written to say it will be two more weeks. By the way, I'm soon to release some giant ants myself, not sure if they are the size the OP was looking for though. Ants bodies are about 12-14mm long I think. picture |
