We are very pleased to announce "They Came from Planet 15" -- a new range of 15mm sci fi based on cinema horrors and adventures with a sci fi flavour. First up: "THOSE!", giant ants to crawl into bedrooms at night and drag the heroine off so that Slab Beefjaw can rescue her! Must have been the work of ATOMIC RADIATION.

picture

Note these are giant -- 5 feet long or so -- not gigantic! We think they are actually scarier when they're the size of a big dog rather than the size of a volkswagon.

The next release will be "the beast that confronted the globe," a snaily terror, as slimy as all get-out! And yes, we will be releasing human foes for the radiated horrors and raygun wielding spacemen to battle, as well as spunky female reporters and bathing beauties to protect. Give us time though -- releases will be occasional.

The line will be added soon to our webstore ….

It's getting so good to be 15mm these days.

Tom Reed19 Oct 2009 9:35 a.m. PST

IT really is. I have been sorely tempted by all of the 15mm goodness. Who knows how much more it will take to tip me over the edge.

Mwahahahaha!

I don't want to die without releasing the monster from "The Creeping Terror" as a model, complete with a pair of woman's feet sticking out of its mouth!

Speaking of which, what's the dumbest movie monster that YOU love?

mad monkey 119 Oct 2009 12:21 p.m. PST

Ewoks. I hate the little %^&$#@. Oh you mean dumbest monsters you love, not love to hate…sorry.

WHAAAT?!!!!! YOU ARE NOW A GOD IN MY COUNTRY!!!!! evil grin

There is no other incarnation of a truly *STOOOPID* D-minus budget movie monster than THE CREEPING TERROR!evil grin

Of course, that proud bestial tribute to dime store film budgets has some stiff competition from the likes of "Ro-Man" from (IIRC) "ROBOT MONSTER," a diabolical genius of a ray gun wielding alien invader consisting of a D-budget actor wearing a gorilla suit with a spherical diving helmet with two rabbit ear antennae projecting from the top! evil grin

You know Jon, these are going to be a perfect beast troopers or should I say insect troopers to this Bug figure, which is also going to be for 15mm goodness.

Also Jon who painted the ants.

Really off topic. It wasn't a good day yesterday. It was like attach of the stingers or thorns or what ever. First I ran into a ton of round thorny things, next I got stung by a few fire ants while trying to remove said thorny things and then one of my dogs a mile from home got stung by a wasp. He got the worst of it. Poor little guy. He got stung in the foot. I had to carry him for most of the way back. No small task since it was mostly up hill.

I continue to postpone my next order to Khurasan and you continue to put out MUST HAVE IT models faster than I can paint them :-)

khurasanminiatures19 Oct 2009 2:26 p.m. PST

A., ok I will not release anything else until you order! grin

khurasanminiatures19 Oct 2009 2:29 p.m. PST

Tom, sorry to hear about your bad day. I'll see if I can perhaps improve it a bit tonight or tomorrow. wink

Ants painted by that Polish Picasso, the great Chris Yaro.

I too was just thinking the other day that I needed a Ro-man. But in 25mm.

The folks from Plan 9 from Outer Space would be interesting.

camelspider19 Oct 2009 2:47 p.m. PST

There is a Ro-man in 28mm. Check East Riding, I think it is.

EDIT: yes, it is East Riding, a Golgo Island model.

I love how its victims more or less obligingly climb into the monster's mouth.

And the central motif of the movie is definitely women's feet sticking out of the monster's mouth, wiggling away as they are devoured. I think the director had a bit of a … thing for that. wink

I think the bad monsters we love question got lost in th thread -- I'm going to open a separate thread for it.

Vis Bellica20 Oct 2009 12:00 a.m. PST

Triathlete…where can I get those bugs from?

MiniatureReview20 Oct 2009 8:30 a.m. PST

Hi Vis Bellica,

The bugs aren't available yet. I hear they might be available in the coming weeks. If I find out anything I will post it here and probably on my website.

Thornhammer20 Oct 2009 8:13 p.m. PST

"THOSE!"

Love it!

Followed by "The Mind That Failed To Perish!" and "That! The Horror From Past The Stars!"

I can imagine spinning that whole line off as a "Cut Rate B-Movie" miniatures game.

"Hah! My giant ants overrun your army men. Feel the wrath of THOSE!"

"Nope! I'm playing a Director card – 'Continuity Error.' Suddenly, six tanks appear out of nowhere!"

"Feh. Eat this. 'Budget Overrun.' You get three tanks. I'm also playing 'Special Effects Magic' so my giant ant units double."

khurasanminiatures20 Oct 2009 10:02 p.m. PST

Actually Thornhammer followed by "The Beast that Confronted the Globe." grin
