I think this will be the last month I end with positive numbers, or … maybe I just skip April.

Eddy

Skipper01 Apr 2009 10:05 a.m. PST

I skipped the month of February so will include both here.

Painted and based:
145 6mm French infantry for Napoleonics
67 6mm Numidian Warriors for FOG or similar ancient games.

Purchased:
None.

I've also made massive progress on more, but they aren't quite ready yet. They'll get added to this months total when it closes.

At this rate I'm making pretty good progress and am seeing so definite impact on my stored models. Unfortunately, my desire to build the Persians for FOG will probably find me breaking down and ordering some more figures from Baccuss this month.

MH,

Come to my stand at Triples and feast your eyes on all the shiny, shiny, shiny new releases I'll have there to show you.

I'll be waiting for you…

Pete, you are a very, very bad man! grin

Oh…BTW,

Nothing in March. :-(

I'm working on 1/72 scale Dark Age stuff for Song of Arthur and Merlin. Been sick. Son's been teething. Nobody is getting any rest. lots to do.

The plus side…purchased 3 bags (36 figs in 15mm) of Splintered light minis. so, purchases are pretty far down.

I've been moving this month and have not painted anything. I did buy 3 warmachine miniatures. I have not yet unpacked my miniatures, that is a goal for April. I also forgot to post my progress for February.

Here are my totals for the year:
bought 37
painted 72

Jana Wang01 Apr 2009 12:11 p.m. PST

Picked up a Reaper templar and a long OOP Thunderbolt Mtn sorceress last week.

Painted:
2 Reaper fantasy figures
2 Future Wars gang members
1 old Ral Partha swashbuckler
1 Knuckleduster mounted cowboy (not the horse)

Steve Flanagan01 Apr 2009 12:44 p.m. PST

Haven't posted yet this year. The Pledge is "paint more than I buy". So here are the totals so far. 28mm-ish unless otherwise noted.

Bought:
January
10 dreadfully poor plastic Cybermen
5 somewhat oversized plastic Daleks
1 Siku die-cast Mercedes-Benz van
February
2 Helldorado demons
4 Horrorclix
4 of "Hazel's Heroes" from Musketeer
March
8 Flying Frog c1800 horror story characters
45 Warlord plastic ECW infantry
24 Warm Acre modern police, criminals, and passers-by
2 Warm Acre WW2 figures
2 Warlord Roman Emperors
4 Ironclad Victorian characters
4 Perry Sudan war correspondents
2 Salute Zulu War diorama figures
1 TSS flat-packed resin building
3 Ground Zero unmanned wheeled drones (15mm)
Total bought: 121

Painted
January
Nothing
February
Nowt
March
Not a sausage.

I think that I have some catching up to do.

highlandcatfrog01 Apr 2009 1:22 p.m. PST

YTD total (before March): +1176.

March report: Despite my stated intention, I didn't put even a single drop of paint on a 25 mm figure. Will try to do some in April.

Also, fell off the "No buying" wagon.

Made one trade – 8 for 8, so that's a wash.

Bought: 118, all 1/285 or smaller. I've got a few more on the way, but since they haven't arrived yet I will count them in April.

Painted: 1/285 WW II infantry and artillery crews – 198
1/285 tanks and artillery – 18
N-scale WW II tanks – 1
15 mm ancients – 95
15 mm AWI – 138
1/2000 Napoleonic naval – 2

Total painted: +452
Bought: -118
Change for month: +334
YTD: 1176 + 334 = 1510

So I'm still doing good for the year, and still above my 4:1 painted:bought goal.

streetline01 Apr 2009 3:35 p.m. PST

From the other March pledge thread (?)

Well, I painted the usual eclectic mix – 9 15mm zombies,3 knights of Minas Tirith, 6 Chaos warriors, 15 15mm Tarascans, 1 chaos sorceror, 6 mordor orcs, 1 Selene, 3 Dire wolves, 9 15mm cowboys, 1 superhero and 6 dark elves. However, my Black Hat order at Salute added 50 15mm figures, so for the year I'm only down 5 15mm and 56 25mm, plus odds and sods. Helpfully, BigRedBat gave me 6 figures in a swap but as it was a swap I'm not counting them… :)

TodCreasey01 Apr 2009 5:26 p.m. PST

Totally dropped the ball this month with an Old Glory army card purchase and a rekindling of an old project (15mm Crusades). But it should be quiet on the spending from for the rest of the year.

Purchased

20 28mm WWII
3 15mm Bofors
200 15mm WWII
56 15mm cavalry
64 15mm infantry
1 15mm tank

Painted
10 28mm WWII
30 15mm WWII
16 15mm Ancients
3 15mm tanks

-174 for the month, – 262 for the year

deanoware01 Apr 2009 7:44 p.m. PST

Well after graduating from The Pledge for a few months, I'll be returning next month. My unpainted collection which had dropped to about 56 figures in November is now at about 80 or so. Not terrible but considering I haven't painted since about November either and Con season is coming up this Summer. I am rejoining The Pledge to make sure i don't fall off the wagon.

Also I have spent the last two months basing the over 1000 figures I've painted over the last two years without basing. I am averaging about 80 a night but only doing about 1 night every two weeks or so. So I will also include my basing results in The Pledge.

So I guess this is where I say "Hi, My name is Deano and I'm a wargamer…."

mweaver01 Apr 2009 7:48 p.m. PST

Painted (87):
17 Mighty Empire tiles
31 GW plastic zombies
23 GW plastic night goblins
10 GW orcs (a mix of metal and plastic)
2 GW metal squigs
1 Old 80s GW ogre
2 bits of miscellaneous décor
1 Freebooter pirate lass (LE 5th anniversary figure)

Purchased (68):
2 Saurus hero on cold one
24 Wargames factory modern zombies
16 GW Lizardman Saurus cavalry x 8
10 GW Empire State handgunners
16 GW plastic Bretonnian Archers

For the year:
Painted: 151
Purchased: 103

I am trying to do the 2-for-1 ratio this year, and was doing OK until last week a half-price sale at Hobbytown forced me to purchase the Empire handgunners and the Bretonnian archers.

I also went slightly over budget* if I keep all of the nicely-painted dwarf pirates I picked up from John the OFM. If I can convince myself to pass some along as prezzies for my brother and/or brother-in-law (the original plan) I stayed in budget.

*My monthly budget for hobby stuff (not just figures, but rules, paint, etc. too) varies depending on how the old weight-loss program is going.

Syrinx001 Apr 2009 7:58 p.m. PST

Purchases were fairly restrained due to vacation spending but painting was a zero due to said vacation and other family activities. At least most of the Ork army I bought was painted. :)

Cosmic Reset01 Apr 2009 8:16 p.m. PST

Painted this month:
7x 15mm Char D1
2x 15mm AMR35 (MG)
12x 15mm AMR35 (25mm)
5x 15mm Firefly
6x 15mm Bren Carrier
3x 15mm R40
4x 15mm M3 halftrack
1x 15mm M4A3E8
2x 15mm modern Arfica buildings
6x 28mm SST Bugs

In March, Painted 48, bought 0

On the year, 135 painted, no new figs yet. On target so far.

Tiberius01 Apr 2009 11:09 p.m. PST

March final count

2 (25 to 28mm) miniatures
55 (20mm) WWII American Paratroopers
45 (15mm) Ancients figures (Greek and Macedonian)
1 (1/32 scale) Carthaginian

Total painted for Match = 103
Total bought in March = Nil

Painted YTD = 127
Bought YTD = Nil

Chipping away, chipping away!

Unfortunately the lead and plastic mountain does not look any smaller.

GypsyComet01 Apr 2009 11:26 p.m. PST

Purchasing is way down for me, but painting has been nearly non-existent.

Bought 15, primed and dabbed some paint on 25, but finished nothing. The new store in the the area seems to support in-store activities like painting, so I may return to that as a solution, since painting at home just isn't working any more.

Mrs Monkey Hanger03 Apr 2009 3:13 a.m. PST

Now Pete, we do not want a repeat of Recon do we?

MH may have an empty transit van and no sense, but I would not like to send in the heavies. Clive and Monty have moved up from physical intimidation to sabotaging vehicles.

Monkey Hanger Fezian03 Apr 2009 11:54 a.m. PST

Anyway Pete is not a bad man..He is evil…..Known to our club members as Evil Uncle Pete…..

HMMMMM SHINY NEW METAL………..

Barks106 Apr 2009 3:42 a.m. PST

So far, so good.

Bought 25, painted 21. All LotR except one lonely old-school genestealer I painted in a fit of enthusiasm when I heard rumours of a re-re-release of Space Hulk.

+52 for the year.

DOUGKL13 Apr 2009 7:03 p.m. PST

For March painted
45 10mm Americam Civil War figs
1 1/600 scale Ironclad
24 15mm Republican Roman Legionaries
Purchased none

Tiberius13 Apr 2009 10:04 p.m. PST

April is looking good.

Purchased None.

Gave away at the free paint and take table (Sydney Royal Easter Show) over 300 1/72nd scale miniatures, each based on a washer and undercoated for the children.

By the end of 2009 I hope to find that long lost bench space in the garage.
