So what is it then? Lizard-muscle-men with big-bopper guns and stunner-clubs? She-cats which dress like Egyptians and whom use their superior mind powers? Huge snake-things with bat wings that cut up their enemies with their venom blades? Mannish sized bug-men that use crystal lances and ride Caterpillar monsters? These are some of my ideas for alien humanoid races I would see produced in 15mm. There are some fine humans on the market. But what can they fight, beyond the Spugs, what else is there in 15mm? What would you fine people like to see made available, in 15mm? |

Besides the Chingers from Harry Harrison's BILL, THE GALACTIC HERO? Well, if I were to actually break down and use 15mm figures, i would say that the Dirdir, the actual Bugs from Heinlein's *novel,* and the Merseians from ENSIGN FLANDRY would b a good start. You could then throw in the Garn from Khurasan Miniatures, and the various races from the classic STARGUARD game, just to add variety. But hey, I'm Old School, so what do I know? Before you do anything, you have to do the Kzinti to get things right, and put the monkey boys in their place

What I would like to have: - Not-Posleen - Rifts style power armor and robots. Especially the Skelebots and Coalition Soldiers. - Not-Chigs - More Not-Space Orks - Not-Shard (think Vor) - Not-Starship Troops bugs - The cast from the Alien Legion Comic (VERY MUCH WOULD LOVE THESE!!!!) – Who would not love a mix of aliens in the same style of armor representing a mixed fighting force? Links: link or foot-sloggers.com - Not-Brood (Old Mavel Comics . . . ) Jeff |

The post says humanoid types. I agree we need more non-humanoid types buy that doesnt seem to be the reason for this post. A humanoid type with 3 arms (one on the ventral surface). |
bloodeagle | 09 Mar 2009 8:35 p.m. PST |
Black Widow why only the dirdir would you not want the Chasch Pnuhm and Wankh as well. An entire game based on the Planet of Adventure books would be good. |

Wow! Okay fine people, now know then that I am not kidding about this. I do not know about some of these aliens. I need to know. So could you all come back and post a link for me of what these aliens should look like. I am serious about this and I need to see what it is you good fellows are wanting done. Thank you all for the input, keep it coming and the best ideas that you present to me here and now, I promise you that I will consider as soon to become sculpting projects. What did you think of the first 4 aliens, I posted at the top?

That IS what I wanted. Now Jeff, when I get these all done, YOU are going to have to help make the rules for them
Okay?
|
nvdoyle | 09 Mar 2009 10:32 p.m. PST |
Most of what I'd want is probably under some serious IP protection – like, say, all of the Covenant forces from Halo. So: Catpeople with sensible guns and gear. Something about half again as big as a human – about 9 feet tall, with appropriate weapons. Mechanoids, a bit less silly than 15mmUKs (missile launcher in the chest
) |
JRacel | 09 Mar 2009 10:34 p.m. PST |

Okay? grin I could likely do that. What system? :) Jeff |
Black Autumn Productions | 09 Mar 2009 10:37 p.m. PST |
Consider these DONE: picture and: picture I was going to do up a Death Robot Race, and since it is generic enough to have skeleton robots, and suport walkers
then SURE these are a go, and without stealing blatantly from another artist. I use to run an RPG of Rifts. I already have the basic head and spine done in fact for a killer robot.

Black Autumn Productions | 09 Mar 2009 10:39 p.m. PST |
Now Jeff
that is up to you my friend. Ask some of the guys what they want, and convert it up sir. I`ll do the sculpting part. What about that new set or free rules that was released tonight, how are they then? |
JRacel | 09 Mar 2009 10:42 p.m. PST |
I downloaded and printed FAD 4.0, but have not read it yet. It looks interesting. Currently I am waiting for the Ambush Alley Force on Force rules to come out later this month and doing some SciFi rules for those, but still open to other ideas including free rules like Forge of War. Just need time to read through them and see what I think. The great thing about bots is that you can combine stuff from many companies and still have a "coherent" army. Jeff |
Black Autumn Productions | 09 Mar 2009 10:46 p.m. PST |
Jeff, I can make some very nice add on weapon arms for them. The tri-leg walker too. I will get started on these this week my friend.

Hi nvdoyle . The 9' tall cat women idea was the second on my list of to do 15mm aliens.

Top Gun Ace | 09 Mar 2009 11:02 p.m. PST |
The aliens from the TV show, UFO, by Gerry Anderson. They are superb looking. Of course, we'll need human astronauts too, in order to fight it out on the moon's surface with the aliens, and to defend the Moonbase. Moonbase girls too, with purple wigs, as well as a crew for SkyDiver, and the security troops for the Earth's Mobiles, and SHADO HQ. Then we'll need some groupies, e.g. civilians, in futuristic outfits, and mini-skirts, which should sell well too, based upon previous postings on TMP. |

I already have them started too. Mine look like people that you would see in movies such as "Blade Runner" and "Starship Troopers"!

WE WANT FUZZIES!!! WE WANT FUZZIES!!! WE WANT FUZZIES!!! TMP link Even if they are 10-12mm in height, you'd be able to sell them as "Fuzzies" for 28mm gamers, plus they could serve as a short 15mm alien for 15mm gamers. Win-win situation, as I see it!!! CC |

If someone did Shard
they could be used as Drej from Titan AE
although I'd love figs closer to their actual look: link I've got the Polar Lights kit that would rock to field as a Drej titan :) |

I will be busy this month and that is fine. Because I feel certain that you very good people here will support my efforts with your purchases. Like we have all been doing with Mike at RM. I own his Zeds and Hunters and will soon have the new Sci-Fi offerings. You should buy from the people whom make available to us what no one else will. This is a good place to come for our love of the hobby/life. I am now going to put all of my attentions then to : Death Robots/Walker Support The near/future Non-combatant Citizens. The 4 races that I list at the start of the topic. A Crystal-Humanoid race.

What about the Chigs from Space: Above and Beyond? How can you not love slightly larger than human guys in ominous looking power armor? Not-Chigs would make a great foil for Rebel-Minis' new drop troops . . . I'm just sayin'. |
Cacique Caribe | 10 Mar 2009 2:29 p.m. PST |
Shawn, you know I must agree with you 100%: TMP link Gotta have "Chigs"!!! CC Though they must look like they are at least 7 feet tall next to the humans. |

Let me get the first series sculpted, as I have listed above, then when you good people buy enough, I`ll do more types. Deal?
I am very serious about all of this, in fact I have a handful of the Aliens that I listed in the above posting already started. Even that Crystal-men race and the furies. I will post some images soon. Ha

I went to look for some of these aliens. I found the Gurps game site and a collection of odd-ball images, that had nothing to do with this topic. If you want me to consider your votes for aliens to be sculpted in 15mm
you have to provide me with the images of what they look like. Okay?
|
Black Autumn Productions | 10 Mar 2009 3:34 p.m. PST |
Hi AAG
Not-Chigs would make a great foil for Rebel-Minis' new drop troops . . . So we need "Kind-a-Chi-ges"? I loved SAAB btw. I was upset when the show was ended. |
ElliesdadUK | 10 Mar 2009 3:55 p.m. PST |
We clearly don't want Marvin the Martian – as that would be copyrighted. So please make sure that any Martians are "not". Cheers |
Eli Arndt | 10 Mar 2009 5:05 p.m. PST |
Really, I'd like to see fewer aliens derived from specific literary sources and more generic aliens. Sure enough, I have my favorites. Things I would not like to see
1) More killer robots. 2) More buggish bio-aliens 3) More future gothic troops Give us some interesting anatomies. I'm a huge pusher for "bugs with guns" – meaning aliens who actually carry technology not magic wands or killer squirt guns, etc.. It'd be nice to see aliens who are not hi-tech too. -Eli |

some not klingons and some not romulans |
Black Autumn Productions | 10 Mar 2009 6:58 p.m. PST |
By the time that I get these done: Lizard-muscle-men with big-bopper guns and stunner-clubs and Support: Heavy Riding Beast w/Cannons. She-cats which dress like Egyptians and whom use their superior mind powers and Support: Riding Beast. Bat-winged Snake-men with Venom Blades and Laser Lances and Support: Bio Guns. Mannish sized bug-men that use crystal lances and Support: Caterpillar Riding Beast Near Future Noncoms that you would see in movies such as "Blade Runner" and "Starship Troopers". Killer Robots and Support: Heavy Weapon Walkers. Cute Fuzzy animalistic tribals and Support: Riding Beast. Not-Chigs. That should have a 12' mold full. But keep the ideas in mind for later.

Black Autumn, If your production list is pretty much what you suggested in the initial question, then what was the point of asking this question? |
Black Autumn Productions | 11 Mar 2009 1:50 a.m. PST |
I was not going to do a Fuzzy race, nor Go-Go Skirted Moon Base girls, nor Not-Chigs, nor Crystal-Men (I forgot them in the last post, sorry) nor some of the other good ideas posted here by good willed people. And now I am
That's why. My list has been doubled because of the feedback offered to me here. #1&2 of Your List IS on MY List
you are going to get 2 of the 3 you asked for, so you should be, well
happy?

Velentian, or some not-protoss in 15mm. |
Eli Arndt | 11 Mar 2009 3:31 p.m. PST |
I am sorry if I seemed a bit confrontational, but I do not see more than two additonal selections on the list you gave. Also, I think you confused my list of things I DIDN'T want to see as things I'd like. What I would really like are some serious, realistic aliens with interesting anatomy. We have lots of animal hybrids and bugs out there. I would also like to see these aliens carrying sensible, believable gear and weapons. If they have mounts, that is cool, but I'd like the mounts to make sense as mounts. Hey, what can I say, I'm picky. -Eli |
