Stuff like this (either in plastic, resin or metal):

Just need doors, plus a few smaller hatches perhaps.

Thanks.

Look at ship modeling suppliers

Cacique Caribe06 Feb 2009 10:13 a.m. PST

I want to use them as entrances to 21st century structures for colonists on Mars.

I would sculpt my own but carpal tunnel is getting worse.

I'll second the model-ship guys: 1/8" scale (1/8" on model = 1' on real thing) is 1/96, should be about right for what you want.

Cacique Caribe06 Feb 2009 11:37 a.m. PST

Thanks. 1/96 it is. That should narrow the search some . . . I hope.

check floatingdrydock.com. They stock alarge array of ship fittings in a variety of scales.

Not exactly what you're after, probably a bit too big. Meant for 25mm but I found them too small as they're about 25mm high actually. Not big enough for 28mm figs but look fine with 15mm who are usually about 18mm before you add the base.

Cacique Caribe08 Feb 2009 10:27 a.m. PST

Oooo, I really like those.

Price is not too bad either (ACR 7 Airlock Door – £ 1.75 for 2):

And they also have smaller hatches too – ACR 10 Tank Hatch (5)

Thanks Agent Brown!

No, clearly Jon just has his finger on the pulse of the market.

I understand taht's why we won't be seeing many more 6mm releases then :(

Black Autumn Productions26 Mar 2009 7:09 p.m. PST

I love these new bits, a MUST Have for the market in my view.
Great Jon!
Thank You!

CW, don't despair. Jon didn't say he was ceasing 6mm, just that he was concentrating on 15mm after a decade's hiatus.

This wheel will turn.

I certainly hope so. I'm suffering 15mm paralysis at the minute. There's just too much to choose from. Do I get the new Rebel Minis SF or GZG's new NAC? If I manage that choice do I go for GZG's grav vehicles (two choices of style) or their wheeled vehicles (umpteen choices). Buying them all isn't an option. Sometimes I wish I'd stayed with 28mm.

Well we get what we ask for… Jon was talking about a scenics pac both there and on the GZGs list……

Now I just have to go spend some money….

Cacique Caribe09 Apr 2009 11:14 p.m. PST

While I get the doors from GZG's new set, here's what mine look like:

Hi CC
Where did you get those cargo containers? Look like resin to the right of the buildings?

Cacique Caribe09 Apr 2009 11:34 p.m. PST

AB,

They are Old Crow and supposed to be crates for 25mm, but they looked generic enough to try for 15mm:

Do you think they'll work?

Look good to me. I'll pick some up.

I'm also looking at these containers . . .

auction

. . . for later. After I finish painting what I already have.

Remind me next time not to trust an Internet site I found via Google and not read the result!
