What 15mm figure manufacturers make figure packs suitable for post-apocalyptic survivors/scavengers?

Which specific pack numbers do you recommend? Photos?

Thanks.

I'm thinking that the GZG 15mm civilians would work link

John,

It so happens that I was looking at my recently-arrived GZG civilians when I thought the very same thing.

Try also our roiters, civilians and colonists from the SF range.

and the Rebel Bio Hazard guys

All may work.

Paulkit,

Any photos of what the rioters with improvised weapons look like unpainted?

link

I ask for a photo of the unpainted metal. No offense, but photos of figures painted like this do nothing for me:

Thanks.

Wow that [SF14] Unarmed civilians or zombies is truly…
If you hadn't clicked on that link before, you should do it. Especially if you feel your painting skills aren't up to par.

I have the Deep Space Colonists [SF04] pack, they would work.
However the pack I got have more flash and misaligned mold issues than the worst of all the OG and QC 15's I own.

Cacique Caribe03 Feb 2009 7:20 a.m. PST

LOL.

Maybe that's why they have no good photos (and they cover the figures in their other packs with globs of paint – to hide the flash and mold lines).

Peter Pig AK47 republic militia might work

Did they come direct from us? I'll get Chas to check that mold as they shouldn't be that bad (although we have sold rather a lot of packs of them over the last 2 months, so it may be getting worn!)

Thank you for that – you'll find we have something like 400 photos of bare metal figures up, so you can generally see exactly what you are getting. I think you'll find we are actually one of the leading manufacturers to include photos.

The bare metal pic I used to have up was much clearer, but we managed to lose both of them somehow. Just trying to get Chas to find the time (between stock casting, shows, molding of the backlog of new items, snow, remolding of molds that are getting worn, snow, oh, and customer mail order) to send me another batch of photos :-)

CPT Jake,

I just bought some of their US Special Forces and, I must say, the detail and quality is phenomenal.

Their first set of Greys also look fantastic in person:

rebelminis.com/15algru.html

If they continue to make new stuff that can be used for SF, they may make me a full convert to 15mm figures.

Lee John Ayre,

Those Peter Pig figures aren't bad at all. Not bad at all.

Thanks!

Geoff
I bought them from the QRF stand at Historicon 2 years ago.

Yes you do have more pics than a lot of MFGs and it is appreciated.

CC
Some of the Martian Metals adventurers could work. How many would depend on what type of time frame you want to base your games in.

GeoffQRF03 Feb 2009 1:02 p.m. PST

Ah, 2 years ago – possibly old Freikorp stock. We've remolded most things (at great expense) since then.

Geoff

CHUKmwowm03 Feb 2009 1:27 p.m. PST

Geoff,
Well I'll have to give you another chance then. Will you be at Cold Wars?

GeoffQRF03 Feb 2009 1:42 p.m. PST

Not us – we're in the UK and Chas can't even get the few miles from his village to the factory at the moment! Not sure who we supply that might be there.

I will get Chas to check the mold anyway.

Geoff,

You must admit that the paint job in the the Unarmed Civilians or Zombies [SF14] photo is a hoot:

The first thing that came to mind when I saw the paint job was these Guatemalan worry dolls:

I can always re-title them 'Guatemalan worry dolls'

I think that would be awesome personally…

"Peter Pig AK47 republic militia might work"

I keep going back to those. I think many of those are perfect as post-apoc survivors.

peterpig.co.uk/range17.htm

As for real "scavenger types", I guess I'm still waiting for something to come up.

CC
PS. I wish Peter Pig had photos for all their lines.

However, I have a question . . .

If someone already has the Rebel Minis Sahadeen along with their Bio-Hazard troops and the Elite SAS troops . . .

Does the difference in their weaponry keep you from using all 3 of them as Post-Apocalyptic scavengers/survivors?
