If you want this to be a Poll, then put it on the Poll Suggestions board (hint: that's what it's for).

I tried to crosspost, looks like it didn't take Mr. Snob…er Snorb.

JRacel31 Jan 2009 8:21 a.m. PST

Sorry, but the Iron storm is several years old and hardly classifies as new for 2008.

Connard Sage31 Jan 2009 8:28 a.m. PST

Well, this one's got off to a flying start hasn't it? :)

Bill started the rest through….it should really be "Best New Sci-Fi vehicle of 2008". But it's not offical anyway…….

But, if your forcing me:

VTOL Mantis – GZG

For 2008? The GZG Mantis, hands down.

JRacel31 Jan 2009 10:11 a.m. PST

I like the Mantis as well!

Earl, Im not sure its worth putting into a competition for "best sci fi miniature" as its not going to get anywhere against small inch hich figurines. However, as contender for best vehcile I think it may have a chance!

Earl of the North31 Jan 2009 2:29 p.m. PST

True, unfortunately there isn't a best vehicle category.

To quote our esteemed editor:

Could we have a separate catagory for vehicles?

Not for the official TMP Awards, sorry.

My personal opinon, there should be and I'd say your huntsman spider would have a very good chance of winning…but there isn't.

John

PS also true that the probable winner will be a 28mm miniature. I love your stuff by the way, hopefully i'll be able to order some vehicle parts soon for my conversions. grin

GZG Mantis. That thing is sweet.

Covert Walrus31 Jan 2009 5:37 p.m. PST

The Mantis, though if we can nominate a runner-up the Syram Merlin from Reaper is a way sweet dropship for 6mm ( Yeah, they *say* it's 10mm . . . But that cockpit is better for a 6mm figure and the ship neatly takes an Old Crow shipping container ).

chuck05 Fezian31 Jan 2009 6:12 p.m. PST

The plastic baneblade by the evil empire. Love em or hate em they do make nice figures.

Pictors Studio31 Jan 2009 10:31 p.m. PST

I was going to mention their ork battlewagon or whatever that massive truck thing that the orks got towards the end of the year. That is one sweet piece of kit.

Mrs Antenociti01 Feb 2009 5:26 a.m. PST

I dont think we ever mentioned our Grymn Attack Craft here…although I would suppose it would qualify as 2009 as it isnt released yet?

I actually like the GZG High-Tech Light Grav Tank.

A very nice looking vehicle.

GZG Mantis

Damaged Drew19 Feb 2009 4:46 p.m. PST

I gotta go with GZG Mantis VTOL too. It's a great mini.

(Can we have it in 6mm Jon? Pleeeease?)

CMikeHardy19 Feb 2009 5:53 p.m. PST

As much as I would like to go with the flow and vote for the Mantis, because it is a sweet little mini… I just don't own it.

I do however, LOVE the GZG Phalanx in 15mm. Sure, it's a rehash of the older one. But, it did come out in '08, so there you go.

Cheers!

I thought it was some sort of dumpster/tip.
