Can any of you tell who all is now making miniatures ranges for 15mm Sci-Fi? I know of GZG and I've seen the old crow vehicles but I do not know who else is working in this scale. I'm new to 15mm sci-fi and am considering getting some. |

1/144th is Heavy Gear from Dream Pod 9, they also have their 15mm Gear Krieg line of figures too. They mix well with the other figure lines. |

Eureka has a really nice pack of SF germans. I use them with Infinity Yaokongs as small tanks. |

Stan Johansen has a 15mm line. I think the vehicles might once have been old 20mm, but scale creep heals all wounds, or something. Certainly his 15mm sci-fi infantry are just that. stanjohansenminiatures.com |

Hey i was wondering if 15mm sf ranges are actually 18-20 like most of the fantasy ranges? |
GypsyComet | 26 Oct 2008 12:57 a.m. PST |
Some are, some are not, and some have crept up a bit over time. |

More specifically, my collection consists of more than a few SF types that are 15mm to the eyes, a few real monsters who would be a different scale if they weren't intended to be the "Space Marines" of their line, and a unit that barely hits 15mm to top of armored head. |

okay thanx for the info, wouldnt it be nice if 15mm meant like 15mm? lol! Some consistancy would be nice, are the gzg 15mm at top of head? |
GypsyComet | 01 Nov 2008 11:24 a.m. PST |
The GZG I have are 15mm to the eyes from soles of feet. Now, the "top-of-head vs to-the-eyes" scale debate is as old as perdition, and unlikely to ever be resolved, given that very few lines ever disappear completely (so one side doesn't "win" by having the lines they don't like vanish). I'm happy to recall that people are not all the same height and move on. The only time it becomes a real issue is for "Age of Industry" historicals, when weaponry would be standardized in size and appearance. For "made my own sword" and "had my blast rifle refitted" periods, it matters much less. |

I'll chime in. Force XXI Miniatures has a line of Sci-fi vehicles and a few infantry figures in 15mm. My products are listed as 15mm but they are actually more in line with 18mm. To small to fit in with 20mm figures and vehicles but stands great against Laser Burn figures and from what I am told GZG's figures. Mel Force XXI Miniatures forcexximiniatures.com |
