I described previously the ‘battles by proxy' practiced among members of the ‘Emperor vs Elector' web campaign :

A complementary approach is for gamers fortunate enough to meet across a table, to invite fellow players living far, far away to send a (few) miniature(s) –a ‘character', a small unit- to take part to the battle.
Thus, while preparing for the next battle of the ‘alternate' Jacobite uprising in the fictitious ‘EvE' Europe, Der Alte Fritz genially invited all members of the group who cannot physically attend to send a painted mini as their ‘deputy', «to become an honorary clan regiment chief or an honorary colonel in one of the Government regiments»:

Already an impressive character (from Saxe-Bearstein / British Columbia: link ) and a Jaeger unit (from Tradgarland / ‘real' Scotland: link ) are on they way to join theJacobite Rebellion in Scotland / Illinois. Others are packing up in various locations of our Real Word to join either the Caledonian or the Britannian forces.

A very genial way to involve fellow gamers living ‘too far away' in the ongoing campaign, and to strengthen the friendly ties within the gaming group.
Compliments and thanks to Der Alte Fritz for his initiative!

P.S.: a pleasant opportinity to remaind all Lace Wars Imagi-Nation rulers, with TMP link or without TMP link
a blog of their own, to join the merry ‘EvE' bunch TMP link !
