I'm looking for some Neanderthals--or apemen--that have some civilized artifacts on them: metal knives, clothing instead of skins, jewelry or something to make them more sophisticated than just cavemen. Does anyone know of a source for these? Thanks in Advance, Mugwump. |

Copplestone castings have cavemen who come with separate weapons – while they are still wearing skins, you could arm them with whatever weapons you would like, e.g. metal swords, proper spears, etc. |

Never seen any figure like that. You could do headswaps maybe

Black Orc games have their Simians, which are Roman-ized Gorillas and such. |

I ended up using Eureka Miniatures' Neanderthals for the Oparian males and their Amazons for the Oparian females. Regards, the Gorb |

Figures like that are actually already on my design list, "Demon Servants of the Ape God". There'll be scantily-clad priestesses, ape-like priests, babboon-like degenerate soldiers/guards/cultists, and probably a demonic ape demigod or monster or two. Opar and Conan the Barbarian (and maybe Thundarr and He-Man, too) were some of my inspirations. Realistically, though, they're a year or 16 months away from being in production. Maybe longer

Alxbates, Keep me informed! My game: Planets of Peril is soon to be released (I'm working on artwork now.) One of the races in the game is neanderthals (saleka in the game) and I need them to look more "Civilized." In the PDF that I'm putting out, I include links for miniature sources. If you have them, I'll be glad to link your site or seller. Any other questions, please PM me. Mugwump (Keith B. Vaughn) |

Alex, As long as the warriors/fighters look like they are ape-human hybrids, I think they would be perfect! Can't wait to see photos of those greens, when you have them ready. CC TMP link |

How's this? picture picture picture I guess this is what (according to PJ Farmer) Opar and Oparians looked like 12,000 years before Tarzan finds the remnants: picture CC |

Well, seriously – they're a long ways off (like a year or year and a half). I've had precisely one email with the guy I'd like to sculpt them, and he neither accepted or turned down the idea. I don't have any of the designs fully fleshed out, either
but think Frazetta and ERB and you won't be too far off of the look I'll be going for. But I'm glad to hear there'll be some enthusiasm for the set. |

Alxbates, I'd also buy a complete set, even if I have to wait two more years. After that, I'd really like to see a "Demon Servants of the Serpent God" set. Scantily clad priestesses in serpent regalia (a human version and a half-serpent version of the same priestess would be great). One or more priests, also in human and half-serpent forms. Serpentmen as acolytes, guards, cultists. NOT Lizardmen – you can find them everywhere. Less like GW's Lizardmen and more like RAFM's Reptiliads and Call of Cthulhu Serpentmen would be ideal. |
