(Xposted on the ‘Solo' board because such setting may become part of a common effort: TMP link

According to several posts on the TMP 18th C. Discussion board :

I'm not alone to be interested in the idea of ‘spicing' a Lace Wars –gaming background with a few Sci-Fi elements – a setting for which I coined the *Lacepunk*
designation:

The ‘tricorn' era has always been my favorite, even before I was confirmed in that inclination by C. Grant's ‘The Wargame' TMP link , and I'm toying with the idea of a Science Fiction variant since I read ‘Cosmos 1889'. But in practice I applied it only at RPG level link -bringing ‘«Wild Wild West» James Bondesque gadgetry' in an ‘alternate' 1745 setting.
Did someone actually go further and battle-*gamed* such a combination? Reports and comments, also modelling descriptions and counsels, welcome!

Thanks in advance,
Jean-Louis

Clockwork rather than steam (of course the "bad" guy might be working on steam)

More Swash to be buckled than Stiff Upper Lip.

I have been building up an interest over the last couple of months. I have just finished Monster Blood Tattoo ( great book and artwork!) and im on the scout to do some miniatures for a skirmish game at my club.I also like the feel of the magic in Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell although its napolionic. Ive also had musings of putting together some Skyships from the Edge Chronicles.
"Lace Punk" is something im about to embark on in a big way and cant wait to get all of my "ideas" into something tangable. I look forward to posting some stuff in the next couple of months.

I have played a lot of 18th Century Horror.

Monster Blood Tattoo

That's a great book I'd like to campaign there.
I think the Edge Chronicles to be very wordy but there's a good story there and nice illustrations.

Try various versions of the adventures of Baron von Munchausen for inspiration. Although speculative fiction was in it's infancy and tended to the fantastical rather than technological.
