I need ideas . . .

Do you have any photos of these you have painted?

link

Also, how are you using them? In what games/themes?

Thanks.

I don't have any painted but I'm planning on getting 4 Squads of Kolony Militia to add to my old IronGuard IG troopers and playing NO Limits rules and using the "after the blastwave" storyline. Fun Comic all SF gamers should read.take a look at the comic and the Kokony troopers very much the same design idea for me.

I have two packs of these, 12 figs painted so far. Sorry no photos as yet.
I have painted them in black body armour, and dark blue clothes. The helmets are black with green visors.I am using them as near future SWAT type figures or corporate security troops.
They are really nice figures and with the head variants you can get a real mixture of troop types, but also vary the look of the same figure with a slightly different head angle.

I have several slightly converted PI heavy infantry i'm just starting to paint. I'll post pics when some are completed in a couple of weeks.Meantime here's a blurry pic of the medic from the command set with the PI Ironsheild in the background.

Nice to see some examples of our stuff. If you dig into our site there are a variety of paint schemes to nick some ideas off.

I have liked the Pig Iron heavy infantry ever since they came out. The pics have finally set me over the edge and started off with an order for a platoon deal. There goes more storage space.

While I love the vehicles, that's a lot of shelfspace!

Now those working sculpts of the special weapons for the Kolony militia are great. Can we hope the heavy infantry get some of those special weapons too?

Stinger Six14 Oct 2007 8:14 p.m. PST

I've put some photo sets of my Pig Iron stuff on Flickr. I bought one of the platoon packs – still haven't finished the heavy laser teams or the casualties, but all the others are done.

I painted them up for use in a 2300AD game, and they're meant to be French Foreign Legion, but they'll work fine for anything really. I'm planning to go heavy into Star Grunt II soon and my Pig Iron troops will be leading the way.

Great minis and I'm really looking forward to more from Pig Iron!

Stinger Six,

Love that desert camo color scheme!

I am so glad that the 10-figure booster pack was done with the right legs:

That, plus a few select figures from the other packs, are going to form the core of my group.

I wish they re-worked the legs on the first packs they released.

Thanks! The uniforms are GW Bleached Bone as the base, with splotches of Desert Yellow and Space Wolves Grey. The body armor and gear is Catachan Green with Olive Drab highlights.

I'll be filling out the rest of the platoon with one of the new booster packs, and an Ironstorm.

Then it'll be time for some of the Kolony minis!

I don't do 25mm / 30mm gaming generally, but these figures might make me change my mind !

Some simply fantastic painting here guys. Thanks for posting.

Cheers

These "Area 51" game troops kinda look like the Pig Iron Infantry, doesn't it?

Finally finished off my platoon pack! These guys look great! Can't wait to see what's next from Pig Iron – I hope they continue to develop their range!

Looks great dwartist. How did you do/where did you get the faces on the figures?

dwartist30 Nov 2007 4:49 p.m. PST

heads are hasslefree spares – the driver of the Ironshield is from one of the female head sets – or(forgive me Kev, Sally et al)'borrowed' from various figures – here's a blurry Grant with greenstuff hair
picture
and another of the spares (without ears hence the 'pushed-back' helmet)

and Kolony troops de-gasmasked!

The Hasslefree heads look great on a number of the slightly smaller 28mm ranges – I've used a few on Forgeworld's Elysian Drop Troops – and at the moment there are two male and two female sets (although only one of the male sets has ears!. Wonderfully sculpted and each with a distinctly different face and a range of expressions. I recommend them highly!

Forgive the extremely poor photography – done quickly to add to this reply. The minis are wip and are actually much better painted than they look! David

Mik -- looks like we share a color palette!

Mine will be Star Army (or Free Company) in 5150, as well as something humano-centric in Tomorrow's War.

I am just about to start painting mine, I have 5 kolony militia with the standard heads, and 5 with the winter (russian) hats on. I am aiming to make 2 small Metro 2033-esque squads for some 'Tomorrows War' games.
