That is what was apparently used for the floor here: link link link Does anyone have a link to where this stuff can be purchased? Thanks. CC |

That is freaking genius. Here is where you can buy some: link Only $23 USD for 16 feet by 20.5 inches! |

Thanks Pictors Studio!!! Are they textured/embossed? I can't tell from the photos or descriptions. CC |

'Expanded Vinyl' makes me think that they are raised squares. I picked up some from WalMart a few years ago that was plain white with a brickwork texture that fit pretty well with 28mm. I could make a lot of walls out of this

I believe that the wall paper is embossed. I've seen similar stuff at the various Home/Lowes/DIY stores, but not this exact thing. If I had, I would have bought it. It is exactly what I've been looking for, to use just this way! Maybe a wallpaper specialty store? |

Doink! If I'd clicked on Pictor's link, I would have seen that. Oh darn, you have to buy even number of rolls. That would be at least 2, I guess. Hmmm, where to find it locally? |

I emailed the Wallpaper Store (the link provided by Pictors Studio), asking about their listing to see if they are textured/embossed. As soon as they reply, I will post their answer. Thanks. CC |

Locally I can find it in a hardware store just 10 minutes from home. There are other textures (mosaic, spiraling mosaic tiles, bigger tiles etc). It's vinyl and about 4mm thick (I'll go there to check later today). The guy would sell me small strips. I think it's about 10 euros for a meter. I am not using it because most of my play now is in 15mm and most of these look too big but looks perfect for 25mm dungeons. They also have one with square mosaic tiles that could be used in games using square grids like DnD miniatures. A. ganeshagames.blogspot.com |

If you get a chance ask your local paint/wallpaper place to see their sample books. I went into a store about 8 years ago to get more of the vinyl I was then using for a Mordhiem board and found about a dozen useful roles. For some time I was using textured vinyl wall paper for every thing from fieldstone to adobe! Most of these wallpapers look better after a rub with some black paint or shoe polish
.makes the detail pop. |

BTW: I spent a good 4 hours looking through sample books to find the ones I liked. There are simply thousands of available patterns and textures. |

Maybe try getting hold of an out-of-date sample book, and save having to buy acres of the stuff?? |

I remember a few years back seeing stuff like that used for modelling floors. The paper used is called 'anaglypta' in the UK. Or it used to be- the name may have changed. It's basically a generic term for 'bumpy' wallpaper. Steve. |

Very nice idea. Thanks for the links. In the past I saw where textured wallpaper was used for cobblestones--looked quite impressive. |

When I finally get home (in 2-3 more weeks, I am now told), I will also have to browse through the samples at our local distributors to see what else they have that may be useful. CC |

This is the reply I have just received from the Wallpaper Store. CC ------------------------------ Hello and thank you for your email. Yes, these papers have texture – if you run your hand over the paper there is a realistic form for the mosaic tiles. This type of paper is called expanded vinyl. We have several patterns like this on our "Textures & Faux" page on our website. I hope this helps Thanks – Carol Sales@wallpaperstore.com |
