Still a work-in-progress, but I have the head and jaws almost done:

Comments and criticism appreciated.

Oh, and like I said, the head section could be used on its own (as if bursting vertically from the ground) or together with the body section (as if bursting diagonally).

Better and better! I really like the way you show how it's improving with each step.

An impressive project! It's going to be awsome when it's finished.

Very nice work CC, are you working from memory, or do you have reference pics to look at?

Cacique Caribe24 May 2007 3:17 a.m. PST

Thanks everyone.

Doc, pics, for the most part. Some of the details are not very clear in some of them though, and so must be extrapolated.

As you can tell in this shot, I still need to get rid of all of those fingerprints of mine, plus add a little transitional "flesh" at the base of the jaw sections:

I just might finally be done with the thing this coming weekend.

I never knew that a figure could take so long to sculpt. Makes me appreciate all the real sculptors out there that much more.

An interesting project Cacique – what rules/format of game do you intend to run using these creatures?

TredHedJon24 May 2007 9:25 a.m. PST

>.<

I wish liscensing things wasnt such an issue. I would love to see this on the market.

CC…I have to echo here….works of art, truly.

Hollyhocks,
Not sure about that yet. I loved the first Tremors movie and thought it could be played somehow. Apparently, I'm not the only one who has wondered about that:

TankerJake,
What if it was not sculpted exactly the same, nor was the same name ever used? In that case, wouldn't they just be another big mutant worm? :)

I wish I had seen this angle shot earlier:

I wasn't really quite sure about the skin folds and the texture and limits of the skin-beak contact areas.

Oh well. Too late to change some of that now. :)

Looks fantastic! Great work.

I'm really trying to complete it before next Wednesday, when we are scheduled to travel to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands for vacation.

Fingers crossed.

Actually, it is a race to complete it before Wednesday or before I run out of GreenStuff. :)

That is one big sucker!

I have a trip to the Caribbean from May 30 (tomorrow) until June 13th.

Unfortunately, other than fine-tuning the "ball joints" in the triple jaw, I could not complete the figure as I was hoping to originally.

If they'll let me take GreenStuff in my check-in luggage, I'll try to work on it a bit while I'm away.

Take good care of yourselves.

A huge salute to you, Cacique – A splendid sculpting job, and very professional in appearance. :)

Cacique Caribe02 Jul 2007 7:52 a.m. PST

Covert,

Thanks. I am still a veritable newbie when it comes to sculpting.

I really got hold of my first batch of putty about a year or so ago. Even then, it was just to repair or slightly modify existing figures.

I just hope I can make the Tremors worms justice in my attempt.
