Has NASA (or anyone) come up with floorplans for proposed bases on the moon, Mars, etc.?

If not, has anyone done fictional floorplans for moon or other off-world bases that could be adapted for gaming 28mm figures on a single tabletop?

I guess that what I'm trying to find out is . . .

What would be a "proper" or logical layout of areas and systems (such as medlab, morgue, command and control, etc.), in relation to one another, in a SMALL base setting?

Thanks.

This diagram of Hadley's Hope doesn't really explain what the other rooms are (only those on the East side are labeled):

LOL!!!

I wish there was a detailed floorplan of this:

Seems small enough to make to scale (at least most of it), for gaming, doesn't it?

Lego along with velcro are the staples of future building…

At least that NASA link took me to other (and more serious-looking) plans:

PS. Seriously, guys . . . don't you think NASA could have done better by hiring a bunch of wargamers to do the terrain? Most of us would have probably done it for free! :)

Starlog published a technical manual for Moonbase Alpha of Space 1999. It doesn't go into every square foot, but certainly provides enough detail for decent extrapolation.

Not to funny but did not Walt Disney's company produce some floor plans while they were building Epcot?

We actually did this as a project for my Rocket Science degree. I'm not sure I still have my copy of the report laying around anywhere, but the thing was cramped.

Part of the problem is that you can't really build anything on the moon. You have to ship it up in modules, and you're limited to the size and weight that the lift vehicle can handle.

I have a book here somewhere that is a series of essays about a fictional but plausible moonbase by a group of scientists and SF authors… Ben Bova is the main name I remember.
I believe it has maps/diagrams.
The city was built into a canyon/trench with a big dome over it all.
The thing I remember most was that they filled the dome with atmosphere and lunar tourists could fly around inside with pairs of rented wings.

The book is called, 'Welcome to Moonbase'..and it was designed as a 'guidebook' for persons coming to work/live at Moonbase Alphonsus? just known as 'Moonbase'. I also have the Moonbase Alpha blueprint book and there is enough there as stated to 'extrapolate' a base if you've got a copy machine or a scanner and can work in paintbrush and photoshop…

Both Moonbase Alpha and 'Moonbase' use MORE of the 'native materials'…like 'Mooncrete'…concrete made out of lunar regolith after processing for oxygen and other materials on site. The actual living quarters were below the surface…in the 'bedrock'…cut out by FUSION torch…which melted and 'sealed' it at same time…

World Works has a 'base' set that can be used as and above ground or underground installation if you're inclined to check it out…also a 'Marsbase' too….just FYI

oooh…I gotta find some minis of the 'moon hopper' or 'moon mobile'…the 'grandpa?' of the EAGLE???

wasn't there supposed to be a 'set' that contained minis of that…that could be purchased 'seperately'???

The Russian moonbase from the videogame "Destroy All Humans 2" has a great pulp feel to it and could likely be created for gaming by defter hands than mine.

My web-fu is weak today and I can't find a screenshot right now.

Second the WWG's moonbase and especially "Mars Station".

Based on the drawing itself, the Shado Moonbase would be about 70m in diameter:

The excellent game 'Sniper: Bug Hunt' had a very good moonbase/colony map.

Good tip on Bug Hunters, I just dug out my copy.
