The Earl of Ormonde's Anglo-Irish confront Montgarret's Irish force at Kilrush in 1642.

We recently played a refight of this battle at Valleycon 24, our local club's annual convention as part of our next scenario book for the Celtic Fringe using "for King & Parliament" rules, which will cover 8 Irish battles from 1641 to 1649. The comprehensive battle report below was written by fellow author Paul R.

Very interesting. What size are the figures?

Kiwi Red One15 May 2024 1:25 a.m. PST

They are all 10mm Pendraken figures.

Great battle report and a very interesting looking scenario.

I am a big fan of the Montrose Scenario book already, and after really enjoying a first game (we played Justice Mills) we have decided to go through the whole campaign. We have played Tippermuir so far which was a major Royalist victory (despite it being the Sabbath, the Covenanters had no luck what's so ever!).

Looking forward to the Irish Scenario book. Will Knocknanuss be in the book?

Thanks for your kind comments CTG, glad you are enjoying the Montrose book.

Yes Knocknanuss is included in our Irish book. We test played the scenario in late 2023:
