What would be cool would be to print on clear overhead A4 sheet.

Use 2 of those round craft hole punches. A big one for the base size, then a small one for 2 leg holes.

Make a cut through the radius with a knife to allow the clear printed price of thin plastic to sit around the figures legs.

This would give a cool hologram/ computer game look with floating stats around the figure, while not blocking the figure or base from view.

Plus there's no need to have to turn them over mid game.

Unless your trying to hide things from your opponent.

Acetate sheets for use with an OHP were available that could be printed on with an ink jet printer. No idea if that is still the case but I'm sure I have a few somewhere (but don't have an ink jet any more).

They did work well enough with careful handling.

I made an 'invisible' town using acetate sheets and an ink jet printer.

I'm not sure you could do the same with a laser printer.

All very clever! Good point about using 3/4" labels on 1" bases. I do the same with plastic disk 1" bases and 7/8" magnets on the bottom. Then store in thin steel lined boxes. Impossible to align 1" magnets with 1" bases :)
