One caveat: I tested the removing of one of these hooks. The idea is that you pull the end of a stretchy material, and the adhesive gives way and the hook comes gently off the wall.

In my first attempt, the adhesive did not give way so I kept pulling, at which point it did give way, the stretchy material acted like a slingshot, and the hook slammed into my hand, taking a small piece of wallpaper with it.

This was with the dollar store variety, so perhaps the more expensive brand works better.

I've not used the cheap brands, but the 3M ones seem to work as advertised.
