Great idea.

I will try this. I needed a violent violet or other man eating plant for my Skull Island game

I bought some aquarium plants from the local pet supply shop for use as weird Barsoom plants for my John Carter of Mars game. They're either plastic or some stiff fabric in garish colors & have relatively heavy bases; I think that they're perfect. The store's clerk asked me what kind of fish I had & was quite bemused by my response a la miniature gaming.

I know I am about two years late to the conversation, but the comment 'The store's clerk asked me what kind of fish I had & was quite bemused by my response a la miniature gaming,' reminded me of how I guard my interactions with shoppers at Joann's, Michael's, and ESPECIALLY at Hobby Lobby.

Perhaps more useful, I strongly suggest looking at parts of larger plants.

Recent change-of-season sales have netted died moss, and bunch flowers the small blooms of which can make excellent other worldly terrors.
