Strapping the scenic down to a yardstick for a few days did reduce the warp, but there is still maybe an eighth of an inch lift on each end.

I realize now I got lucky with the black sand, which is a perfect match to the black glitter on the skulls. You can't see my flocking errors! grin

On closer inspection, I see I was wrong when I said the skulls did not react to the spray coat. I believe the skulls are styrofoam, coated with glue and glitter (they also sell the skulls 'plain'). Two of the skulls show some deformity (crinkled in); on one skull, the sparkles seem to have absorbed into the styrofoam. Not anything worth correcting…

Correction, I took a closer look at these, and these skulls are covered with what look to be small white sparkles in a clear shiny sealer.
