It's time now to announce the final world-class artist who has been recruited to help out with our Simian Empire Army Project.

Actually, he needs no introduction - you already know his work! It's J. Ira Monroe of Bwana Art Studio, who previously did such a fine job painting the Rock Giants for the Demonworld Dwarf Army Project.

One of Ira's Rock Giants

Ira is a well-known artist who paints regularly for wargamers and collectors. (He also publishes his own line of animal-themed greeting cards.) He specializes in 28mm scale and larger. "My eyesight isn't what it used to be," he says, "and if the item is smaller than 28mm....I'm just guessing at the details."

Some of Ira's commissioned work

The figures Ira will be painting for TMP are definitely not on the small side. He'll be covering two units of Simian Javelin Corps, and those figures stand 47mm tall!

Ira gave both Rock Giants a unique look - even adjusting their poses

In his last Workbench series, Ira showed us how to paint two Rock Giants and give each a unique look. He'll be taking the same approach with our two Javelin Corps - two units of six figures each.

"I'm more than tickled to assist with the painting project," says Ira
