Nicely done. I love the red blade, consider it duly stolen :) |

Is this a Finecast model? |

In the article he says it is metal, so no, not Finecast. |

Detail on the standard looks a little too blended together. Could be the photo, but I'd pick it out with some darker washing applied to the edges of any raised spots. |

My next step is to come up with a leader for the opposing side
What is the opposing side? |

I'm going to start with Chaos Space Marines. |

Is there a particular chapter? |

For Chaos Space Marines, it will be whatever I can pick up cheap on the second-hand market

I'd recommended a chaos undivided group of chaos marines, then you can use a little of each. A regular opponent of mine back home uses a group of nurgle marines and two groups of thousand sons to shield his more diverse chaos squads
both types soak up damage and let his khorne terminators get closer. The sorcerers leading the thousand sons cause me extra grief. A squad of obliberaters are more scary than a dreadnought as well! |

Nice, I like the 'crusty' look goes really well with the figure. |

I'd recommended a chaos undivided group of chaos marines, then you can use a little of each. Sounds good. I also need to throw in some demons, to give the Grey Knights something to obsess about
