Last WW2 armour skirmish game was an Eastern Front scenario. Germans supported by Stug's attacking Russians in a town. Rules used were Crossfire with the street fighting providing perfect interuptions of LOS to avoid to loong fields of fire. After a hard fought game victory went narrowly to the Germans. Tried out some armour variations to Crossfire which have been aired on the net. Makes armour more relavant, but still vulnerable if unsupported by infantry. [29 Mar 99]

A valiant group of Soviets discovered the hard way that 5 T34-85s and 5 SU-76s are not sufficient to kill (or even really slow down) 5 Panthers and 5 Pz IVfs in an open clearing. The range and power of the Panthers' guns is just too great. [29 Mar 99]

Vince Solimine

Battle for Stonne 1940. French & Germans. Good battle with early war tanks. [28 Mar 99]

Rick Rutherford

Some of the members of our group have just started playing WWII historical games, and we're using the "Mein Panzer" rules for micro-armor. During our latest game, we had a couple of dozen Soviet T-34s assaulting a village held by a dozen German tanks, and the Soviets won a resounding victory. [26 Mar 99]

One great aspect of Mein Panzer is that a player can quickly play an enjoyable game controlling a full battalion, but even just controlling a platoon or two each, as we did last week, is very satisfying! [26 Mar 99]

Russia 1941. Dug in immobilised T-35s (the land battleships) withstood a massed strike by He-111Hs, then acted as target practice for some Pz IVDs. However the PanzerGrenadiers following up got into a stoush with some Russki infantry that counter-attacked into the village, and ended up second-best.

This set is particularly good at Pacific War, Russo-Japanese, Poland 1939, Russia 1941, and other relatively unpopular theatres. But good for the usual France 44 or Russia 45 too. [17 Feb 99]

January 9th, 99 East Front, a ruined village got spanked by the russians (grrr) [10 Feb 99]

Bryan Stroup

I ran 4 games of Tracks at Jonescon in early January. A British advance guard force met stiff resistence from retreating German troops at the cross roads near hill 102. Control of the hill was imperative as it covered all roads in the area. [10 Feb 99]

Jake Rose

Played a Mein Panzer game with a German armor BN attacking an American Recon screen. Americans had to hold initial line for 2 turns, displace to secondary line and hold for 3 turns. Germans had to try to cross table in 4 turns. [10 Feb 99]

Duncan Allen

The last WWII Skirmish game I played was with home grown rules although I was involved in playtesting Mein Panzer. We usually play larger scale games (Command Decision, Clash of Armour) when we do WWII. [9 Feb 99]

Not bad, I am usually an Infantry Skirmish gamer, but my last game of Battlecaptian went very well. [9 Feb 99]

carl Amedio

last game had a company of shermans a company of stuarts and a re-enforced platoon of jacksons track and otherwise destroy a battalion of germany's finest. The victory was due to agressive tactics of the americans and the arrogence of rhe German commander [8 Feb 99]
