It was a 1500 point Battle Fleet Gothic Game between Imperial and Chaos fleets. Imperial won. [3 Nov 1999] |

There I was with the rest of the Espan Reserve unit #127 "Dirtfarmers" patroling the fringes of our territory. We tore into those Kashmeri rats like a vrak worm on brreg rice. Our meager force of 4x Blood Hawks, 4x Stingers, 4x Saucer Shuttles keyed their attack pattern's by slotting in around our primary elements 2x Kosmos and 2x Stratta. No doubt we were out-gunned, we lined up against an impressive Kashmere force including 4x Helbenders, 4x Maruts a Varuna a dredded Black Widow, and who knows what else? Anyway, the whole assault was a calvacade of ineptitude. Don't get me wrong, the tactics we sound but nobody could hit anything, not even the Black Widow. Odds are the Kashmere would have comeout on top, if he had takent he time to think about it, but the battlefield does not give a man that time so he left the field in defeat. In all honesty, if they had not turned tail and fled it may have ground down to a tie, or those Kashmeri punks may have pulled it out. [03 Nov 1999] |

StarFleet Battles. 2 Constellation Class cruisers vs 2 Klingon D7's, upgraded with missile packs. A few asteroids for terrain (10..all moving 1 hex per turn in the same direction). The two Federation ships concentrated their fire on one D7 until it exploded. The other then left rather quickly. I like the detail of the game, but many ships in an action slows the game down greatly. Its also hard to get a "kill", since a badly hurt ship can usually get up enough speed to get off board. At now I am playing with Starblazer/Battlefleet Gothic miniatures using Starmada rules. Nice miniatures, great and simple rules! [02 Aug 1999] |

Recently played the basic 3 on 2 fight out of the basic Full Thrust main book. A new FT player wanted to run the 3 FFs vrs my 2 CLs he did a emergency warp jump with his last FF on turn 4 [12 Jun 1999] |

I played Starmada about a month ago. I had a 500pt size fleet of Arcturan Federation ships, including one Seraphin Class Battlecarrier. A 3-sides battle ensued between friends. The Arcturan fighters were able to create aerospace superiority, but could not stop the shields 5 transports of the Sssk (a lizard race with boarding parties). The two Ssk transports launched pods which penetrated the fighter defense screens and boarded the ship. I lost one of the escort frigates in a duel with an Imperial Invincible. However the Seraphin was able to diable the two lead imperial vessels with its ion cannons. Easy pickings for the anti-matter beams :) I would have won the battle except for the valiant, but futile efforts of the crew to fend off the boarding parties. The seraphin was a ship designed from a more peaceful time with greater range weapons. Too bad they could not learn the lessons from Rome and Carthage. The Carthaginians might have won the Cold War. A past game of Full Thrust (2nd edition) took place around an unnamed planet, smack in the middle of two nebulas. My opponent and I chose 1000 point fleets, and set course to engage. My tactics were to overwhelm him with fighter squadrons; he concentrated on missiles and larger ships. Several turns later, I had missed with too many torpedoes, and he had destroyed the engines on an otherwise undamaged heavy cruiser with a well-timed pair of needle missiles. I finally conceded when his point defense batteries eliminated my last effective fighter squadron, and my lone carrier was about to appear around the planet in front of his 2 relatively unscathed cap. ships. Next time, I'll make sure to use torpedo fighters that can actually damage a ship through multiple layers of screens. Or maybe his missiles are the way to go... [27 Apr 99] |

Played the Star Wars game at Historicon '98..lost of fun, the game used Full Thrust...the rules were simple and easy to use and rewarded good tactics...I like rules like that. [24 Apr 99] |

I made myself felt against the enemy, a mixed babylon 5 wars fleet against home brew shadows. However unexpected reineforcements allowed him to turn the tide of battle to his favor. [20 Apr 99] |

Babylon 5 Wars. Fairly simple teaching scenario for a public demonstration. Narn raiding party vs. a small Centauri supply convoy. Nothing fancy, no special ships. The Centauri took heavy losses but managed to move to the edge of the map (defense perimeter). [20 Apr 99] |

Last game I played was an ecounter between earth and minbari in Babylon 5 Wars. 6 earth cruisers got slaughtered by 3 minbari sharlin cuisers. Was not a good day for me :( [31 Mar 99] |

I currently have a pbem game of Babylon 5 Wars going. I'm flying a Centauri squadron (BC, 3xCA, 3xDD) against a Narn squadron. Firepower is still in my favor, but I'm worried about having fewer, smaller fighters than the Narns do. [30 Mar 99] |

Silent Death battle from the Siguard Archdiocese house book. The Sigurd ships completely destroyed the House Colosia's warhounds and the supporting fighters with only minor losses to their own forces. [29 Mar 99] |

I was playing Battlefleet Gothic 2 Lunar class cruisers against the retreating Chaos Battlecruiser Abomination. The battlecruiser had some minor damage (basically a hit missing) and the Lunars had to destroy the ship or risk a battle against the wounded dreadnought and a Starbase. The Imperials launched torpedoes and fired their Nova cannons but were successful in achieving only the loss of some lances on the enemy before the battlecruiser turned and launched a retributive strike. One Imperial ship was crippled on an (extremely) lucky die roll whilst the other ship emerged unscratched. The Battle ended with the Chaos ship reaching safety. We played a game immediately after with 1500 pts worth of Imperial ships attacking a mined and defended 'harbor' near a planet that Abomination had retreated to. The Imperials dished it out and got an expecially lucky stroke when the Chaos Battlecruiser's warp drive imploded and took the station with it. Afterwords there was just mop up in terms of the Imperials survivng the next Chaos turn. Victory was achieved Praise the Emperor! [29 Mar 99] |

I played a game of Jovian Chronicles (the battle of Kurtzenheim from The Chaos Principle OVA). My friend was using the CEGA forces, and I the Jovian. Well, to make a long story short, I was totally pasted (need to work on my tactics a tiny bit). He completely decimated my exo forces and took out most of the fleet that I had. [28 Mar 99] |

I ran Full Thrust for the first time the other week, and I thinkevery one was impressed. We are used to SFB games that take hours and end often thru bordome. The game took about 2 hours for 8-9 ships each side with novice players and GM. I recommend it! [28 Mar 99] |

Just added Fleet battles rules to normal game. My NSL fleet had a very bad time vs. FSE with SMLs. [27 Mar 99] |

Babylon 5 Wars by AoG is the most recent I have played. I played a loyalist EA fleet against a Minbari player. I look forward to the second edition rules, as this has promise to be a very good system. It would be much better as a campaign however (which I have written adhoc rules for that we use). I did just purchase Battlefleet Gothic today, and it looks very good, much better than the first rather lame version. I really wish Fasa would bring back the Tactical combat simulator for another setting, as they lost the Trek license. Perhaps their Battlespace game setting which is NOT a very good game in itself. The Tactical Simulator is one of the best ever done. Pity it is so hard to find now. I do plan to convert a great deal of universes over to it in the future. [27 Mar 99] |

Babylon 5 Wars: Earth Civil War Battle: Loyalist Forces: 3 Omega Destroyers, 2 Hyperion Heavy Cruisers, 12 flights of Thunderbolt Fighters, 2 Flights of Starfury Fighters: 10,632 points Rebel Forces: 1 Omega Destroyer, 2 Hyperion Heavy Cruisers, 4 flights of Thunderbolt Fighter, 2 Flights of Starfury Fighters, 4 Whitestars: 9860 Points Table size: 6'x 8' Set up: Opposite corners House rules in play: All variable damage weapons do max damage (no dice rolls). This game was played during our weekly Wednesday nite sessions and we use this house rule when we play on weeknites as it speeds the game enough to allow us to finish. Opening Speeds: Loyalist Forces: Omegas and Hyperions, speed 6. Fighters, speed 18. Rebel Forces: Omega and Hyperions, speed 6. Fighters and Whitestars, speed 18. Turn 1: The opposing capital ships began to slowly close the distance at speed 6. The Loyalist fighters jumped out towards the opposing cap ships as the Rebel Whitestars and fighters began a flanking maneuver to the right. No fire this turn. Turn 2: Cap ships of both sides continued to move towards each other this turn, still well out of range of one another. The Rebel fighters and Whitestars continued their flanking maneuver as half the Loyalist fighters turned off to intercept them. No fire. Turn 3: Cap ships continue their methodical plod towards each other (EA ships truly are flying bathtubs!)...ending range at about 64". The Rebel fighters and Whitestars slow to speed 12 as the Loyalist fighters close with them...heavy fire is exchanged with both sides losing some fighters and the Whitestars taking minor damage. Two Whitestars manage to get off Molecular Pulsar shots at flights of Loyalist fighters, shredding them. Turn 4: The cap ships continue to close. Half the Loyalist fighters close on the Rebel Omega and Hyperions. One Hyperion is ripped badly by the fighters. The other and the Omega take minor damage. The return fire rips up four flights of Thunderbolts. The Whitestars close to close range (12" or so) from the Loyalist cap ships, managing to stay in the side arcs and out of the primary weapons arcs of fire...Two Whitestars target Omega 1 and the other two target Omega 2. Both Omegas are hit with two Improved Neutron lasers and MANY Molecular Pulsar hits...The two Loyalist Omegas are burning hulks at the end of the fire phase. The Rebel fighters close to point blank range with Hyperion 2 and rip it apart with combined fire. The remaining Loyalist fighters close on the Whitestars, destroying one and severely damaging a second. At this point the Loyalist forces conceded, having lost 3 of their 5 capital ships and more than half of their fighter complement. The Rebel forces had lost half their fighters and one Whitestar destroyed with a second too damaged to continue effectively. The decision was a victory for the Rebel forces. [26 Mar 99] |

The last game we played was B5W (can't get people interested in any thing else). It was a small fleet battle no fighters, it was for the Dilgar playtest. It was six ships on six ships. Lots of death, destruction, and bad jokes. All in all a good time. [26 Mar 99] |
