DBF 300 pts on 15.9.99 Undead with Orc allies defeated Lizardmen after killing the Lizardman CinC mounted on Triceratops which had crushed most of the skeleton warband. A close game. [17 Sep 1999] |

Hordes of the Things. Amazons vs Skeleton/undead. A"best of three" campaign, with the Amazons winning two. Little terrain except for a large woods to the left side. While "Fantasy Rules" gave a better game, this was quick, fast, and fun. [15 Sep 1999] |

The last game I played was a game of Fantasy Rules! against my regular opponent. He used his regular Medieval army and I tried out my newer Celtic force. It was great fun! The highlight of the battle was the confrontation between his Longbow unit lead by his Cleric fighting my Goddess unit (a Major Spirit). In the end, my army was routed or destoyed, but the Goddess had a new toy-boy to take back to the Netherworld with her...... [15 Apr 99] |

Lizardmen vs. Undead A 1500 pt warhammer rules game were my army was basically annihilated due to an undead spell which caused my level 2 slann to whither and age and die because I rolled a 2 instead of a 3+. It was annoying as I had stored the total power card for my next turn. The rest of my army slowly succumbed to other undead spells. AHHHH !! [10 Apr 99] |

It was a Hordes of the Things run-through which was pleasant enough, although too abstract for my taste. I'm more interested in a medieval rules set with a limited magical section that still allows me to fight the non-human armies without the same old factors, and that doesn't rely on buckets of dice or individually based figures. Trying out my ideas for Inca and other pre-Columbian South American cultures using FR!2 Tried civil war with clerics and sharmans. Only getting BACK into fantasy after being a long time out of it. Started 20 years or so ago using an old set called "Ancient Warfare" by Milgamex, which had a Middle Earth suppliment. FR!2 is much more sophisticated. [15 Mar 99] |

Rules FR! 2nd Ed, Low Magic Panzer Army Gnome allied to Hill Dwarves was opposed by High Elves with allied Hill Dwarves. Both sides deployed their Hill Dwarves on the right, and used their allies to assault.. Due to incrediable bad luck with shooting on the part of the Hill dwarves the majority of Panzer Army Gnome contacted them en-masse.. after very messy combat the High Elves allies collapsed before they could overcome the Gnomes allies. I like FR! because of it's flexiability.. the basing encourages mini diaromas and the morale clock and magic systems are simple yet fun. [15 Feb 99] |
