Fantasy Rules! Hill Dwarfs vs. Lizardmen. First time using 2nd ed. rules: great game, now even better! [18 Apr 99] |

A game of Clan War at a local game store. It was a basic game with the units from the boxed set. We each had a unit of unaligned archers and unaligned infantry. I had the Crab Clan personality that comes with the box and my opponnent had the Crane Clan personality. It was a very close game. I lost because of a rash of bad dice rolls with my archers on one turn. I did no damage and the archers were spent for a turn because of the tactics card I played on the unit before they attacked. A very enjoyable game with excellent miniatures. [16 Apr 99] |

Skaven vs Bretonnians, the Skaven gave their all but unfortunately the Bretonnian knights were too much for them. Should have used more long-range weapons to soften the knights up. [17 Mar 99] |

A teaching scenario at the local game shop, De Bellis Fantasticus (slightly modified), Orc's vs. Elves. After looking to be completely crushed, the Elves rallied & drove the Orc's from the field, & a good time was apparently had by all. [15 Mar 99] |

The forces of Light--Elves met a crusing defeat against the forces of darkness--Orcs. The loos was especiall bad as it was against an 11 year old playing for the first time. Egads I teach to well!! [14 Feb 99] |

It was an Elves versus Lizardmen engagement; some initial skirmishing by flyers, and then the main bodies collided atop the terrain objective (a large flat hill, in this case). All in all, a fun game that was decided in about an hour and a half. The time required, along with the flexibility of the ruleset, is what makes Fantasy Rules! my choice for mass combat rules.
