Played these rules with my wife, and two of my sons. Had a blast with them! I used some card stock village buildings from various sets, along with different mini's from my collection for fantasy gaming. The only issue I found frustrating was that my Villagers were far more tolerant than I wanted them to be…

There are two groups: Adventurers, and Villagers. The Adventurers start trashing the village, but the Villagers, whose homes are being looted, destroyed, and set fire to, hold back, until the destruction reaches a higher level (controlled by dice rolls…). By the time that my Villagers truly became irate, so many had been killed, that I needed the survivors to go Berserk, to have a chance to win -- and they did! That put the fear of the gods in the Adventurers, let me tell you! It was fun, tongue in cheek, and a good time was had by all players.

The game has a limited scope, though. The premise is cast in stone, so there is limited re-play value, after you play both sides, and enjoy the frustrations of each. The price is low, so that makes it easier to purchase. Fun, quirky, simple mini's game -- great for conventions. Cheers!

Adventurers need to be suppressed.

Tell me I'm crazy, but this really sounds as though it should be a scenario and not a game.
OK, obviously in board games they're usually the same thing, but this is a miniatures forum. For me, rules are what tell you how fast someone moves and what happens when X goes up against Y. You want, truthfully, as few as you can get by with so you can remember them. That's why we keep adapting favorite rules for other periods. "Regimental Fire & Fury" for instance--or "Age of Eagles."
But it's the scenario which tells you "here's the terrain layout. You've got a battalion-size kampfgruppe, the Allies have a Combat Command, and the Fuehrer hasn't authorized you to blow the bridge."
Rules should be capable of almost infinite replay. Some scenarios can be replayed, but some very good ones are fire and forget.

Why can't rules be both?
There is a rules system blood and swash that is about a bar room skirmish. Is that a rules set or Scenario?
Why does it have to be one or the other?

Taxonomy is not a hard science.
