Now the new rules are available to order, I await mine with great interest.

Assuming we get the rules here in the UK before midsummer, would any other Uk based KK players/enthusiasts like to participate in a demo game at one or more of the wargame shows here in the Uk this coming autumn ?

Lots of issues including finding a venue that will take us, but SWS have indicated they will support the idea, so is there anyone else interested in doing this ?

Koenig Krieg…the rules that started it all for me back in 1984. 15K+ of miniatures, many-many other rules and historical eras and yet still… Koineg Krieg is one of my all time favorite set of rules for the Horse and Musket(7yrs War and Am Rev)period!

Good luck with the event "over there!"

So what is different about this 3rd edition? My recollection of KK was that it was a pretty simple buckets of d6 dice, IGO-UGO system. Not that that should be taken as a diss ..I played a lot of KK back in the day and enjoyed it.

Ouch, I still have all 3 of my old ones and I did not pay half as much…

"My recollection of KK was that it was a pretty simple buckets of d6 dice, IGO-UGO system."

It was one of the first games that wasn't IGO-UGO. Brigades take turns activating, based on initiative rolls.

Not buckets of dice either. Single d6 for firing and morale.

I have the impression that Barry Gray, a founding member of HMGS, dropped out of the hobby in the late 1980s and disappeared from our view. Who is the author of the third edition?

Pat Condray,

Siege Works Studios is publishing the 3rd edition. We purchased the exclusive world wide rights for KK, Le Guerre de Roi, Festung Krieg and Der Grosse Koenig about 18 months ago and have developed version 3 over that time. The other three books will be updated and re-released over time as well.
