Has anyopne tried using DBR for late War of the Roses (Bosworth) or Burgundian wars etc?
I love the element based game and the "clean-ness" of the system- no casualty marking etc. DBMMMMMMMM doesnt work for me and Dba is too simple I truly think DBR was the DBx systems magnum opus and I want to stick with it.
Has anyone done this or thin it would be possible?

Merry Christmas

DBR should work for WotR although you might need to be a little clever with the troop definitions.

Why not just use DBM?

You could do what one of my mates did which is to take DBA and then add scenario specific rules such as the Yorkist archers are dissadvanaged in this battle so when they shoot at other longbow they take a -1 etc.

Xmas is for playing with your new toys, with your (grand) kids if you've got them, with nephews otherwise, if you've got any, with friends in the flesh certainly. NOT for puttering on the Net. Get OFF! and go do something REAL for a change….

So, why are YOU puttering on the Net?
Geez, what a Grinch.

Our group has pushed DBR back 100 years and even done Hussites. Lots of fun and, indeed, much easier than the "M"s' or even FOG(R).

When I view game complexity 1 – 10 I put DBA at 2, DBA 2+ at 3, DBR at 5, DBM at 8, DBMM and FOG are not well enough known to me, but they cannot be easier than DBM. For comparison sake, Empire is at 9 and WRG Ancients at 10.

I cannot handle anything greater than 6.
