Modern 25mm figures just don't fit on 40mm deep bases. How important is precise depth basing in the rules? Is it possible to play a game where one side has deeper cavalry bases, say 50mm, and another has 40mm?

I understand that if both sides have the same basing it wouldn't matter.

I have mine mounted on 50mm deep bases. It only matters in rare circumstances, but is perfectly acceptable.

I agree with Steve … Adding a little depth will not be a big issue.

A depth of 45mm is now official for DBA and is the depth of the Rentra bases that come with the Perry Brothers figures.

50mm is compatable with Warhammer depth and bases.

I'd go with 45mm as we hope to make this the new standard.

While we're on bases….

I'm working on a TYW army & about to start on the Commanders.

The bases seem inordinately large: 60 X 60.

Is this what we do?

Could I add, is anyone doing circular command bases?

Anyone?
