Battle report.

Okay, so hopefully you've seen all this on the SF Gallery page and have an idea of the story.

I'm not sure the exact order of things, but this should serve as an idea.

We start with a civilian MTV approach. Fabion & Tanner are unconcerned as the Cane Toads are used widely though out Mars as Multi-Terrain vehicles. After all they're only armed with smoke dischargers, not really a threat, is it?

The Toad had a free activation to get where it is. Then it would need to win the initiative if the driver wanted to get closer. As it happened the driver must have bottled it so only turned to unloaded its cargo.

Fabion is first to take the initiative and strafes the ranks of Munchers with the LMG. Who in turn make their saves.

The Munchers close in, the others in the compound start to react and Tanner shoots but misses. The next turn, Fabion again opens up with the LMG killing the first Muncher before him and Tanner start to be overrun.

Both Fabion and Tanner get attacked, Tanner's body armour saves him as he gets bitten. Mean while two of the construction workers win their activations and leg into the base. But the third isn't so lucky and gets eaten.

The next turn SABRE again win the initiative. Fabion and Tanner fighting hard and being overrun. The Muncher has finished off the construction worker and looks around for his main course. Keller, Monty and Hughes move forward and start to put down fire though the main gate. But the Munchers prove too tough and make yet more saves.

SABRE wins yet again the initiative. Fabion breaks off and makes it into the base. Tanner legs it away from the base with the rampaging wookie after him. One Muncher fails to activate which gives SABRE a little room to manoeuvre. One Muncher makes it into the base but gets blown up by Hughes's rocket launcher.

The next turn see's the remaining Munchers win, for the first time the initiative. Bad for Tanner as the Muncher catches up and sinks its teeth in and finds flesh, one suppression for Tanner. Meanwhile the other Munchers activate and one tears into Keller, one suppression. Only Hughes and Fabion can save Keller has he reaches his last suppression. Fabion activates, shoots his assault rifle and scores a 6. The Muncher fails his save, a clean shot though the head. Fabion has saved his squad leader.

Meanwhile Tanner is in peril, suppression up to two and no hope of fending off the attacker. Can his friends get to him and finish the last Muncher? They do…Hughes makes the final killing shot sparing Tanner from being snacked.

Some pics of the action.

What does he want?

Urrrr…That's go yum,yum.

We're not stopping them!!!!

Phew!!!!That was close!

Where are you going? You haven't had dessert.

Arrrh, Its got me…shoot the dam thing someone!!!!

We're coming Tanner!!!!

I forgot to say that I changed the rules a little for this. It was supposed to of been a way of keeping in line with the stats for the Munchers as I worked out what worked for them and what didn't. I just wasn't sure what to expect from these.

But in light of things I should of just kept to the standard rules.

I really like your terrain. Good painting on your minis too.

Tgunner04 Aug 2012 1:48 p.m. PST

Hey Greg: were you activating units or individual troopers?

Big Ian04 Aug 2012 1:57 p.m. PST

Very nice! I like the Munchers.

Angel Barracks05 Aug 2012 1:40 a.m. PST

Nice looking set up.
Glad you have embraced the FUBAR 6mm greatness!

Not keen on those bio-munchers, they need to be anhiliated, nasty things.
Big Ian is in error!

Tgunner, I activated the troopers and Munchers individually.
Though it would work better, since it was only play testing the stats for the Munchers.

As it happens I should of just stuck with the standard squad activation.

I'm planning another game. So the Munchers will be back along with some Corporate bad guys.

I must finish the bases for the figures and I haven't started basing the vehicles yet.

Cool! Be sure to post your next action. I'm curious to see how squad activitation works for you after playing with individual.

Here's a little preview to the next game report. Which is a follow up from the above game.

Deimos Tactical Squad leader and SABRE OC –Major Winters giving a quick on the job briefing.

"Ok, listen up people, we've received a report about two Geologists working for a local contractor which have failed to check in. Their outpost is in sector 0254, so we're going to check it out. It could just be down transmitter, but I've asked Europa squad to come along. Especially after the attack on our base."

"Don't worry boss, we'll keep an eye out for any bio-trouble".
"Too right, I'd like to see them bit though this armour".

Bio-Tec Corporate goons up to no good as usual.

"This thing's making me nervous, it just keeps staring at me".
"Shut up and get it in the back of the Toad with the others".
Poke, poke, prod……Growl….. "Easy for you to say".

"Hurry up, SABRE's on the way; we've got two Ramjack's inbound. No doubt looking for those scientists that you've kidnapped, and you're still messing around with that Muncher. Remember, we've been paid good money to do this. So, no witnesses".

"So, they've fallen for our little trap then?"
"Yeah, looks that way. What are we going to do with the scientists anyway?"
" I dunno, feed them to the Munchers. They could do with a little snack".
"Enough of the chatter, we need to be in position for when they reach the outpost."

….With that the radio cuts in.
"This is Alpha one, I'm having software problems with this remote controlled anti-tank weapon, we've given me"
"look, I don't want problems, just make sure it's working when SABRE arrive. We've got our hands full with some of the Munchers. So I don't want to hear it"
