Hi all,

Well I finished my annual B-day game. This year I decided to leave good ole Phatt Daddy alone and go after the old enemy: the LRL rebels on Liberty. I also decided to try out the new changes to FUBAR: Ultra FUBAR. And let me tell you, it's a real game changer. If you haven't tried it and you like FUBAR then you'll love Ultra. Anyway, back to the story…

When I last played, the LRL had launched a major invasion of the Island of Crossland which is a major part of the US Commonwealth of Liberty (Liberty recently became the 58th state in the Union- this is the year 2181). The newly formed Republic of Liberty hopes to snatch Crossland and it's vital spaceport, Centerville, away from the Americans in hope of cutting off the American state from the rest of the Union so that their invasion of the mainland of the Commonwealth of Liberty will be successful.

The LRL, the regular army of the Republic of Liberty, sent in its elite 2d Infantry Brigade. So far the US response has been disorganized and disjointed. The US Army National Guard of Crossland has joined the US Army's 31st Infantry and some scattered Special Forces A-Teams in a desperate attempt to slow down the LRL invasion. But to no avail. The 2d Brigade has swept aside the Army's defenses and now drives swiftly on the county seat: Centerville.

Now the battered but unbowed survivors of the 31st Infantry had joined up with the leading elements of the USCMC's 1st Battalion, 4th Marines in a last stand at the Crossland River just in front of Centerville. If the Americans can stand at the Crossland then there is a chance the reinforcements from the mainland can arrive to save the day. Failure here means that Centerville itself will be invaded and that thousands of American lives could be at stake if the LRL uses artillery or some of their dreaded, Neo-Soviet bioweapons.

Now its up to a handful of GIs and Gyrenes to make a stand at a National Guard Armory now grimly called the "Alamo".

Can Gunny Anderson's leathernecks and GIs hold the line? Come over and find out.

I'll have the full battle report posted this coming weekend. I'll have a lot more pictures and a detailed write-up of the battle and my impressions of Ultra FUBAR in the report as well. See you down range.
