Can any kind old hand out there e-mail me a scan of the North American Society of Ancient and Medieval Wargamers (NASAMW) _1993_ booklet of "official" interpretations for the WRG 7th edition ancients rules, or direct me to where I can obtain a copy? It isn't in the NASAMW's "Spearpoint" magazine archive on-line (I checked).

Likewise the 1994 revisions to the 1993 booklet.

Thank you in advance.

Oh, why punish yourself…

Hmmm, I know I have those in a binder with my rules as I used to play in the 7th edition Historicon NASAMW tournaments from 97-94. However, since I have not played 7th since I moved to Europe in 94, it is a matter of finding it. I'll have a root around in the basement this weekend for you and see if I can come up with them.

Duh! I just threw mine out days ago. Gosh, and after the hundreds of hours I spent playing that game -- we loved it, we hated it, we could not live without it…….

Likewise the 1994 revisions to the 1993 booklet.

I'm loving the irony. Otherwise, what the OFM said.

"Oh, why punish yourself…"

Maybe somebody just can't let it go that Scott Holder or some other guru ruled against them in a tourney back then. No aspersions on Killroy (who could be helping a buddy), but WRG players tended to be waaaaay too serious. A fifteen-year grudge is not unimaginable.

Now Allen…you know I have moved on to Empire. At least I don't have to worry about finishing a game.

Check out Kilroy's "real name" for an idea of his personality!! :O

Kilroy4401 May 2009 9:09 a.m. PST

My reason: mine went missing some years ago, I have a friend who still likes to play 7th edition and occasionally I will humor him with a nostalgic game of 7th edition (I'm currently a DBMM devotee myself), and the interps still come in handy for those games.

I sincerely hope that doesn't offend anyone. I never intended or imagined that my simple and humble request could possibly be offensive or controversial. I'm just looking for a little kind help to obtain a copy of an old wargaming aid, not to argue about rules or personalities, or be ridiculed by strangers who grossly overestimate their own skill at witty repartee.

If you can offer a positive response to my simple and innocent request, then I am sincerely grateful for your kind assistance, and hopefully I can return the favor someday.

If you can't or don't want to help me, that's OK too, but then please just silently move on to the next message topic and crack wise somewhere else, thank you very much. Just the facts, please.

You didn't offend me. I actually think I still have a copy. I have just had difficulty in locating them. If I can I will scan them and send them to you. Can you open a PDF file?

Kilroy4401 May 2009 3:12 p.m. PST

anleiher:

Thank you for your helpful response. Yes, I can open .pdf files. When you are ready to send, let me know and I'll give you my e-mail address.

Sorry for seeming touchy, but there are one or two people here with grudges against me from other on-line groups who have to dog my posts no matter what the topic.

Thanks again.

Yup, that's me all right.
You forgot to call me an Bleeped text, though. You were not inaccurate, just incomplete.

I'm offended that I wasn't mentioned by name. I usually am.
