BS Skirmishes is a great mini's game, with a thin veneer of RPG on top. I view it as a direct precursor to 4th Ed. D&D<i/>, which I believe plays much like this game… It can still be found on e-Bay, and perhaps Amazon.com. If you can find a copy, it is a fun game to play. It grossly simplifies the combat rules from the 2nd Ed. AD&D RPG rules which it is based upon.

The book has a large portion of its pages dedicated to instructions on how to paint miniatures, which is not bad, even 20+ years later. It discusses washes and shading, but it avoids the now infamous, The Dip, and, Magic Wash (Pledge Floor Shine) techniques.

One handy thing included in the back of this book, is a page of cut-out templates for breath weapons (dragons' breath), and spell effects. They can easily be adapted for use in a tabletop RPG, though the official scale, in BS Skirmishes, is 1 inch = 10 feet, while the ground scale in most RPG games, is 1 inch = 5 feet! Be sure to pay close attention to the scale differences. Cheers!
