Just purchased Battlelust. I like the system, but have some questions. 1. Does it seem like weapon breakage happens way too often? is it realistic that blocking a dagger with a warhammer can cause the warhammer to break? or blocking an arrow with a sheild can break the sheild? 2. fatigue? it mentions fatifue rules, even has a "rest" command, but as far as I can see there are no fatigue rules. 3. does anybody use house rules with this sytem that they would care to share?

Hi G.I. I aggree that Battlelust is a great set of rules. I have had them for awhile but have never been able to scare up a game before. Thought I do have vast experience with Harnmaster, the RPG version of Battlelust. I will try to answer a few of your questions(I hope). 1). Weapon breakage. In your first example( Dagger vs Warhammer), you might randomize which weapon checks, or simply declare that the dagger as the smaller lighter weapon has to make the check. I agree it is hardly reasonable that a dagger would break a warhammer. In the second case the arrows vs the shield it says in the rules that weapon breakage is ignored for impacts of less than five on shields. If you wish you could make a house rule that weapon breakage is ignored on shields untill they have made a number of blocks allready( Eg. five) Just use common sense and the rules should work fine.
2). fatigue rules. Your right, there are none in the book. I would simply ignore them because they would lead to a lot of book keeping. I you really want fatigue rules i can email you the ones from the Harnmaster rules, and you can adapt them. I would use the rest option as more like a hold action. It's up to you.
My wife and I are currently painting up some 20mm plastic crusaders and saracens to use with the rules. So I have to come up with some stats for camels and so on. If you are interested in exchanging rules ideas and so on e-mail me. My address is

Hope to hear from ya

Hi I have played and liked BatteLust.I had to change abit the combat table because I found the combats too long sometimes, specially when you have Guys with TAC 3 who are almost invincible. I shitfed left the results on the combat table . This way its possible to hit a TAC 3 armoured guy. Finally I dont use the weapons breakage rule and the game is still interesting.
For Georges and others, I have on my webpage Characters sheets including Crusaders and Saracens . I have also on the website "my" combat charts

hope that help

Thanks Luisito. I will check your site out. If Gloria Invictus still wants to use weapon breakage, I just downloaded a chart that that modifies weapon quality by size. So that example of a dagger breaking a warhammer would be very unlikely. I cant remember what site it was from, but I can get you the address if you want it. I am also trying to find a site that had Battlelust adapted to Samurai battles. I hope the rules are still out on the net somewhere.

GeorgeD,
yes, I would be very interested gettin a hold of that weapon quality chart, as I am still very interested in using weapon breakage in my games. I am working on a a few rules changes and when I am finished I will email them to you and see what you think.

Your welcome to a copy Gloria. Though I cant find the address for the site where I downloaded the chart. Send me an e-mail and I will send you a copy. Its not a big file, one page in pdf. I would love to look at the rules changes that you come up with. I will mail you any stuff I will mail you a copy.

Has anyone come up with or found some rules/modifications for non-humans? I'm thinking Orcs or equivilent, goblins, giants, ogres, minotaurs, etc. Also any ideas on limited magic use?
