I recently bought the Armies of Arcana rules. Unfortunately the closest thing to a hobby shop in my area is Wal-Mart. Is there a good place to buy good sheet magnets online for my metal based figures? Hopefully a strong magnetic bond that you can easily cut with scissors.

Try a sign shop, they use it for making those car signs.

Wally world should have strip magnet, which I think tends to be a bit stronger anyway.

If you get really stuck, e-mail me and I'll get you some.

Wal-mart carries sheet magnet in their craft section. The last time I checked they had sheet, strip and different thicknesses even.

I use magnetic business cards. You can buy them at office max. You can get about a hundred for 30 dollars. Or something like 25 for 10 dollars. They each measure 90mm by 50mm. Since they are intended for business cards, they already come with a sticky surface, thus you do not need to add glue.

I cut mine up and use them for all different kinds of bases. You can add a 2 or more together to make really large magnetic bottom.

Its the best value I have seen yet. 450,000 square cm of magnetic sheet for only 30 dollars.

One guy I game with goes to a Staples/Office Max and does what Operon does. Magnetic business cards. He then bought a 1" hole punch and he based all his 40k that way. I think the hole punch was the most expensive part.

Try buying from Wargames Accessories. They make great magnetic bases already made and cut to size. They are sturdy, magnetic and cheap, I think a 4x5 inch one is $1.50 and they are good quality.

Thanks everyone. I'll have a look around town.
