Like the title says.

Lone Gunman has the old Armies of Arcana figs if that is what you're looking for.

I have a 10K Dwarven, Goblin, Orc, Barons of Lyonesse, Undead and Demon armies. I also have a 7K High Elf and Lionmen army. I would like to start a Lizard Man, Dark Elf and Dark Dwarf army. Lots of monsters too. It is a great game just tough to find people to play against.

Khurasan's built up a pretty impressive range of 15mm fantasy figs as well. I'm particularly fond of his orcs, which have a nice Tolkeinesque feel to them.

Does anyone make army boxes/starter sets for the rules?

napthyme06 Sep 2010 11:10 p.m. PST

I've wanted to do Starter armies for AoA, but i can't get the main rule guys to agree upon how many figs per stand you'd actually use of any given figure.

In any case I can do custom orders at LGG, so just let me know what you want.

WeeSparky07 Sep 2010 8:39 a.m. PST

I based mine one figure per 15mm square stand. Individual basing is the only way to go if you want to switch your units from rank and file to skirmish formations at whim.

I would like to find a place that sells dwarves and samuarai..

Landorl08 Sep 2010 6:16 a.m. PST

Tabletop Miniatures (Now 15mm.co.uk) has some good dwarves

Chariot Miniatures are also good.

Peter Pig's dwarves are good.
peterpig.co.uk/range19.htm

There are others also. Blood Dawn and Splintered Light (splintered Lands) dwarves are very good looking, but work better with 20mm than 15mm.

I can't help with the Samurai.

I like the Alternative Armies Dwarves from 15mm.co.uk They are one of my favorites. Minifigs makes 15mm Samurai. I believe that Old Glory may also make them.

Thanks,

John

Napthyme, do you mean how many minis in a unit or per stand. We don't use stands in AoA but individually based like WeeSparky said. I know you asked about this on our forum and I didn't answer. The problem is that unit sizes are flexible in AoA depending on what sort of mini it is, the points costs, army size and personal preferences. For most things a pack of 20 infantry and maybe 10 cavalry with characters available individually would be an ok starting point.

I've never used any of Thane's armies in a game so I don't really know what would be reasonable size and composition for them unless I just based it on what I've done with my 28mm collection. I'd love to see army lists from some of the people that do large scale battles in 15mm.

Splintered Light will be happy to put together armies for AoA; I would just need to know some good starter sets. Also, 15mm dwarves will be out this fall--teaser pics coming relatively soon.
