I would like to play Pig Wars type skirmishing with 25-28mm using Samurai. Would like to toss in some early medievals, Vikings, etc. Maybe some fantasy. Would like mixes of villagers, loot as well as fighting types. Any recommendations on manufacturer mixes? I have seen Old Glory mixes with Foundry with Perry on your boards, any others? Thanks |

Essex Vikings are nice as are Artizan. The Artizan mix well with the Foundry Vikings the Essex are a bit thinner but still mix well with both of the above. The best Samurai are the Perry's bar none. For the Middle Ages if you want HYW the Black Tree Design line is very good and priced well but they are hefty. Also Front Rank for HYW but again they are on the big side of 28mm. Crusader has the best Normans and early Medieval miniatures and they match well size wise with Artizan, Foundry, Essex, Perry, and OG. Foundry also has Middle Ages figures as well as some very good villagers, monks and other stuff for the period. I think one of the Foundry Viking packs has loot and other pillage. Hope that helps. I have some pictures of Foundry Vikings on my webpage. link |
