Just a small update on my blog, the lower section to the stockade is now in place.

Next I will be moving on to the upper stockade and figuring out what sort of buildings/structures I want to place there. I have the feeling I will have to build them myself as I have not found anything premade from this era in 1/72 scale. If anyone knows of anything let me know.

Thanks!
Dan

Just a comment,

Why do you have the large amount of sloped earth on the outside of the stockade? A little might be ok if it helps to stabilized the model. However, the berm on the outside seems that it would be counter-productive and help any invader trying to scale the stockade. This is why you have the raised 'firing' steps or platform on the inside, so that you can shoot over the stockade and down into the attacker. If anything, there shouldn't be a slope on the outside and you should think about a moat area as well, wet or dry, to aid in the defense of the stockade.

What ärmy are you doing this for? Looks good so far.

@dglennjr Thanks for looking and the comments. I plan on cutting into some of the sloped areas and attaching plaster rocks to make most of the area impassable. I want to simulate the fort built on a hill of sorts. I didnt even think about adding a moat. I'll have to see what I can do but would most likely build a seperate piece for that.

@Soldat I will be using it with my Pig Wars rules. For right now it will be the fort of a Saxon noble and his men for protection against raiding vikings.
