I've been a bit neglectful of my Late Antiquity project, so I had another solo game of Comitatus to make sure I had the hang of the rules and to see if I had 2 balanced forces. I still think the Germanic forces are a little weaker, but I could have been a little more tactical in their deployment.

Anyway, the upshot was another Roman victory, with the Roman superiority in skirmish forces the game winner. I think if I had used the larger number of Germanic heavy cavalry to negate the Roman advantage in skirmishers, the game would have been different.

Nice job!

Very well done; love the layout and painted minis. How did you like the rules anyway? Been thinking of having a go with them myself.

They look good! Nice to see the different shield designs.

Monger, the rules play very well. It's worth buying them for the illustrations, alone, the author has a stunning collection.

Good to know. I think I will pick up a copy at OMM. Along with a copy of To The Strongest for good measure!

Hi Monger,

At the moment To the Strongest is only available as a PDF from my shop.

In around a month it will be published in book form, but I'll probably sell that directly, too. Later I might also publish via Lulu.

Best, Simon

Oh jeeesh. I though OMM had it. All good. Thanks again for the link.
