I have never tried them before, but someone suggested I take a look. Am a long time WAB 2.0 soloist (Korvessa = in the wilderness).

So is it any better/worse than WAB for soloists?

If you play WAB solo, you can certainly play War and Conquest solo… Rob Broom ran GW Historical Miniatures and was an avid WAB player (not sure, but he may have written WAB…and he wrote W&C…similar in style.

I have enjoyed W&C solo. I think even more than WAB.

paul liddle20 May 2014 8:20 a.m. PST

Yes, the initiative rules make it much less predictable than WAB and better to play solo.

I just wish some bright mind would make the stats for ARMY BUILDER.

Thank you for the comments

It is possible to play War & Conquest solo. In an early draft of the rules, I even mentioned solo players as a 'hardy breed of individuals' (or similar such words)

Probably the only time when playing solo that you need to take care in the decision process is when deciding if you wish to use Strategy Intervention Points to win Strategic Advantage for the turn – see this battle report here link for some explanations of how a battle unfolds

However, if you play solo regularly, it won't be an issue – I manage to do so – mind you my success rates never that good against real opponents, so perhaps I am speaking too soon :)

With the internet and suitable gaming space/armies, I am sure Skype and email can ensure two or more people can game so join up on the Scarab forum and see if theres a like minded person out there in need of an opponent.

Also I do try to answer any questions on the forum as promptly as possible – however, 2 years plus in, we are still 'errata free' and theres around 500 army lists free online.

Kind regards

Rob

I have checked the on line page and it loos intriguing – probably give it a whirl.

Hey Rob, will you offer a trade in for my 3 WAB rule books and six army books (AoA, AtG Hannibal, Spartacus, Shieldwall, Chivalry)? he said with a huge grin ;-)

Scarab Miniatures22 May 2014 4:20 a.m. PST

:)

Sorry, no trades.. (smiling)

But, Rob my AtG is even autographed by the author!
(just having fun of course)
