On Sunday, 25th September, the Wessex Wargames Society will be hosting the "Italian Wars" round of the Southern League. If anyone is interested in taking part, there are still a few places left and details can be found here on the Slitherine website: link Venue is Colbury Memorial Hall, Ashurst, near Totton, SO40 7EL, just off the junction of the A35 and A326. |

Will the madaxeman be attending? I need a FOGR fix. I live vicariously through his site. |

I think he is coming, yes. |

No he isn't and I suspect it is a little late now as all the entries had to be in last weekend in time for checking and the first round draw to be worked out. |

That's a shame – I thought he and another competitor were coming down together. |

A big "thank you" to all who organised and attended the above event, which I think you have to say was won by the visitors – 1st – Tom Elsworth (1500 French) 2nd – Paddy Bray (1513 Scots) 3rd – Dene Green (1513 Scots); Bob Medcraft (1530 Caroline Imperialist); and Ray Boyles (1535 Caroline Imperialist) An excellent day was had by all, some close games (a few not-so-close!), but much merriment and everyone looking forward to next year's Italian Wars event. |
