I recently got into DBM 3.2 via a friend at the Durban Wargames Club and had great fun with the games. My conclusion is that Crassus deserves all our pity. The best I could do with a Consular army against a mass of Parthian horse archers and cataphracts was snatch a draw, as this game shows: justinjottings.blogspot.com/2012/07/dbm-battle-report-from-dwgc-game-20-may.html

Good report and photos. Quite a nail-biter.

Cheers,

If the around the hill flank move was blocked…

Thanks for that batrep, very interesting for me as I, too, am a DBM3.2 player.

The photos were not brilliant in quality – I borrowed a camera to take them and am not an experienced photographer. I'll post a few other battle reports fairly soon.

Aksakal: my plan for dealing with the Parthian flank march was to turn the supporting lines around and hit it in good time. The loss of my cavalry command and the belatedly perceived importance of the camp sent that plan west.
