So it's been a few years and time to ask again,
So when will we see Tactica II?
Is it dead? If so can I get my hands on the test rules at least?
Because I really enjoyed Tactica!!!

Arty released it to a small group of friends many years ago. I am unsure why he never published it.
I tried for a time to get a copy… without any luck.

I am afraid it will join Armati Renaissance and Spearhead 2 in the never to be seen category.

I've been one of the main playtesters for T2. Arty swears that the rules will be published this year. He just has to finish the diagrams that go with the rules and then I have to revise the index. Yes, there will be a very detailed index for the rules. I've been a professional indexer for over 30 years and I wrote an index for the rules. I'll just have to revise it once the final pagination is finished.

Joe,

The copy that I received lo those many years ago, was quite disjointed and incomplete. Some important pages were missing, so it was a complete mess. However we could see that there were some interesting changes and adjustments in there. I didn't know that it was being finished. If so that is good news.

Honestly……..we have been hearing how 'it's gonna get released later this year….just after Arty does…….xxx…..and yyy……' First time I heard that was 6 or 7 years ago.

Remember Renaissance Tactica? It was announced in Medieval Tactica!

I know, there's been a lot of promises made over the years. I don't blame anyone for being skeptical until you actually see it in print. All I can say is that it's a great set of rules, we've playtested the heck out of it, and I really think that its going to be printed this year.

When it comes out I hope you'll give it a try.

Oh,yeah, people forget it was Tactica that revitalized Ancients back then. Got me exited again, anyway.

Played a lot of TACTICA in Colorado in the early 90s. Fun game!

IF it is released I will definitely get it, but no holding my breath. Too old and easily winded for that.

What copy did you get many years ago? I remember as one of the play testers that it was not disjointed or missing things. I spent plenty of time proofreading any time we got a change, but it was pretty well completed by then and could be played just by reading the rules.

The problem was I thought the rules were complete and Arty said they were done. Then years past and I just assumed they would never see the light of day. I stopped playing and running demos at conventions. No sense in playing a set of rules that no else but a handful of people in the world play. So I moved on to other things.

To be honest so many other rules have come out now, I don't know what I would do. Tactica I was the first large ancient game that I really enjoyed and have many fond memories of playing.

Well looked back at all the photos I took of games and boy do they ever look like huge ancient battles. I could get a game done in 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Just noticed that the date of the pictures is 2010.

I wish!

Tactica was my intro to ancients. I'm curious, Bob – are the mechanics updated so that you don't have to mark off individual casualties? Any other major changes?

I loved Tactica, and had a great time with it, but my fear is that it will feel like a 90's game.

If I remember right. Units took hits. No figure removal. Then depending on your rating determined how many hits you could take before removing the unit.

Well, I love Arty's rule systems. I just remember Tactica 2000 and promises of release pretty much for every year for at least the past 5 or so. I'd like to see the rules. But I'm not holding my breath.

Somewhere in the house, I have a Rubbermaid tub filled with unopened blisters of Foundry Assyrians for my Tactica Assyrian Army. If I have a bucket list, seeing that painted is at the top! All those 4-horse chariots….

Our group has been waiting years for Tactica Two!1 Mike Adams

princeman29 May 2016 6:08 p.m. PST

I'm with you Mike.
waiting all these years has turned me off to anything Arty could release. Asked many times with either no response or no deadlines kept.
