This series of matches illustrates well the upheaval recorded during the century of crises as generals and politicians vied for the title "Emperor of Rome".

The army lists are nearly identical with one minor difference between the two; the armoured cavalry are 3Kn for the western army and 4Kn for the eastern forces.
