Very enjoyable Aaron.

I do wish those mats were on sale in the UK; as far as I can see they were only ever on sale in your local shop!

Yes, great AAR, with plenty of Oh Fer Frik's sake and YeeeS!
Good action pictures as well.

Really good write up, and the thoughtful postscript on the rules fits exactly with my own experience. I had great fun fighting four different battles at the Wargames Holiday Centre a couple of weeks back, and then had my first battle at a mate's place pitting Early Saxons against Romano-British. It was his first go at the rules, but we worked through them slowly and had a great game. His Cavalry ended up being the decisive factor, but my Saxon Warriors very nearly broke through his infantry centre. It took about three hours, and was great fun, as well as requiring quite a bit of tactical thinking. A lot of mileage in this set, I feel.
