I recently posted a first impressions piece about this great system on my blog. I also managed to get it to the table for a first test game last week, using my 6mm Greeks.
An "AAR light", discussing some of the features and also some general thoughts about the game's strengths and potential drawbacks, can be found here. Cheers, Gunnar |

I enjoyed reading these. They certainly present a clear view of the mechanics of the game. I really like your 6mm armies. Very nice! I have been toying with rebasing mine. 18 per base look great. Are all infantry mounted that way? Do you use 40x40mm bases? How are Cav done? Thanks, John |

Thanks John! The infantry (hoplites so far) are all based 18 per base, on 30x30 bases. For skirmishers, I use six per base. Cav are mostly Thessalians (very light cav) so for them it's only three per base. One unit is made up of two bases. In this way I can use them for games where column march and such are used (i.e Hail Caesar), and it also makes for different unit size combo options. |

Can play a card on a unit, activate a second unit, then come back to the first? Once you fail, is that unit done? |

Hi Todd, yes that's it. Once a unit fails to activate then activations end for the unit's whole command, unless a general is present to replay the card. The player then moves on to activate units in another command (players usually have 3 or 4 commands). Usually a unit activates once or twice, but on rare occasions I have seen units activate as many as five times; the game can be quite fluid. Best, Simon |

Don't talk to me about generals replaying cards, mine are always asleep! |

To the Strongest is an excxellent game! I should play it more (it's been a while now) Very nice in 6mm, you don't need a lot of space for it. |
