We've started a To the Strongest campaign at club, recreating the conflict between the Byzantine Empire and the Bulgarians that took place in 1002-1018 BC. In the first installment the two armies clash right at the border between their respective nations.

Hi Gunnar, I once saw a Roman unit advance out of its fortified camp which was immediately captured by a "lost" enemy unit that arrived unexpectedly on the Roman edge of the table. The unwise Romans had to turn around and assault their own camp! Happy days. :-) Best, Simon |
