I'm interested in gaming this army and would like to know if anyone has any tips?

I'm thinking 6-8 Kn(S); 4-6 Kn(0); 6-10 Bw; rest filler.

Two or three commands of Kn's?

I wanted single based stands, but could take DBE stands from the DBMM list. If I'm reading the rules right that's a +1 in combat Kn(S)/Kn(I) stand? Expessive, but unstoppable! With the DBMM list there's no cheap Lh(F) though (which may not be such a bad thing).

Has anyone had success with them using DBM/DBMM?

I've fought against one in 'MM a couple of times. It is an army which tends to win big or lose big.
The version I played against had the single based knights with a Holsteiner ally. I think it was four commands – two of knights and other mounted, one of foot plus the allied command which was also mainly knights.
Do just enough manoeuvring to get favourable matches and then hit hard before the enemy can take advantage of your narrow frontage. If you use the double based elements then your frontage is even smaller. Those elements are very powerful but can get clumsy once melee starts to get more confused.

Battle reports here link will give some ideas on how (and how not) to use the army. You can work out orders of battle from the photos if none given in the report.

While I have no interest in the DBM rules, thanks for showing that site with all the battle reports, great to see all the different ancient armies.

Thanks for the list. Teutons, Tibetans and Alans…oh my!
